She tapped her pencil impatiently as Cathy continued to babble about something pointless. Leto tried focusing on the courtyard out the window. Students poured into the blossoming square, delighted screams and laughter from two girls could be heard even in the bustling cafe. The uproarious blonde and black haired girls finally hugged after dancing about. "This place is perfect for watching students on campus." Leto thought, watching the girls separate, and walk towards the water fountain in the middle of the courtyard.
"...but then he hit me! I don't understand he said he loved me!" Cathy's shrill voice broke any attempt that was made to ignore her. Low tree branches made it harder to watch the girls as they walked off. Leto sighed.
"Can you stop talking now?" she asked, while trying to study the scene just outside of the window. The girls joined a group of people that seemed to be waiting for them.
"E-excuse me? " Cathy stumbled, causing her unwilling participant to become more irritated.
"God, it's like a stereotypical high-school play" Leto bristled at the thought, the group of friends she was watching all hugged and laughed.
"You know Cathy, have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, if you shut up for five minutes, someone might actually care about you?" Leto's cold voice pierced the cheerful atmosphere. She turned from her window to stared Cathy down, like a predator watching their pray.
"Y-you know I-I put up-" Cathy attempted to defend herself.
"Without your pretty face and wonderful cock sucking skills, I honestly don't think any guy would care enough to deal with you. God knows I'm not getting anything out of this, well other than a headache." Leto cut her off, not looking away. Cathy's ugly sobs caused a smile to crawl across Leto's face.
"I'm sorry" Cathy whispered quietly. "Pathetic" Leto thought, rolling her eyes she turned to look back out the window. She had lost track of the group.
"Now, this isn't how we make friends" a familiar voice chirped. Her smile faded when she found a handsome blonde man sitting in Cathy's seat.
"Are you always a bitch to her?" he smirked, his blue eyes glisten with amusement.
"She doesn't understand that I can't bare her voice" she stated shortly, void of all empathy.
"You'll never make friends like this. You're lucky Cathy is such a dependent person. She really needs help if she keeps crawling back to you."
"I thought having a person to bully all the time would be fun. Now, I'm stuck with this parasitic puppy." Leto paused, a wicked smile consume her decorous face, "Maybe you should play with her. You like beating women, and she's use to it" Leto giggled at the wincing man.
"Ouch, you wound me. Who knew that you were such a heartless monster. " His playful voice was soothing compared to Cathy's. "I think I deserve a hug after that!" he winked at her, as he stood up to receive his reward.
"Leo, you're older than me. Act like it." she joked, grabbing her bag as she got up.
"Sorry, apparently having a dick also means that my brain takes longer to develop. I can get Cathy to come here if you want though." he fired back, as Leto walked by, denying him the hug. "She has the cutest button nose, and I adore her Valley Girl voice" he followed her out the cafe.
"No! You're right. I'm a terrible person." Leto looked at her watch
"Seven thirty? I need to get to class soon" she thought while they walked down the sidewalk getting closer to the noisy courtyard.
"That's my girl," he grinned, forcing the small girl into a hug. He was much taller than her, and the smell of gas and sweat from his old leather jacket flooded Leto's nostrils.
"Training again?"she asked, pulling from the hug "You really want to work as an officer?"
"Yeah," he stated,"That fire convinced me..." he stopped, "Anyways, I'm late. I won't be able to walk you to class today. I'm sorry" he softly kissed her lips. "Will you be okay?"
"Well, I guess I'm ready die today. It's been a nice life." she smirked, and pulled him in for another kiss, but he quickly broke it.
"Okay. Okay. I'll see you at home. Good luck, the Law doesn't stand a chance against you" he told her firmly, as he walked towards the exit.
"I thought he had class today?" she kicked her for not being more astute. "I guess I'll ask him later" she walked into something hard. She fell back hard, dropping her bag. A pain shot through her body as hit the concrete.
"Fuck me" she muttered to herself, trying to get back up.
"Oof, You okay?" a deep voice interpreted her cursing. Leto look up to see a man offering her a hand. "I'm so sorry, I was watching a-" his sheepish brown eyes stared at her as she got up.
"Yeah, it's fine." she stated, gathering her items from the ground, depositing all of it back into her bag.
"My name's Edward, maybe you could help me?" his voice cracked, causing him to blush. Leto stopped and looked at the boy, giggling.
"He is so nervous." she thought,"how cute, it's like choking a puppy that is begging you to love it"
"Did I say something?" his chuckles were halfhearted, as he fidget with his clothes. Edward was frail and shaggy, his clothes hung loosely, and his face was riddled with acne.
"No," she cleared her voice "I was simply lost in thought" she smiled at him, holding a hand out "my name is Leto"
"Edward Davis." his shake was weak, but he offered a warm smile. She couldn't help but to think how pathetic he was, it was almost charming.
"So what did you need?" she offered, wanting to know more him.
"Well, I'm new in area and I don't know where my classes are." he shyly told her.
"Ah, let me look at your schedule" she commanded, he handed a piece of paper to her. Four classes, back to back. "Do you have a pen?" He handed her a pen, she quickly drew map of the campus on the back, and marked the fastest route it would be to get to each class and gave it back.
"Look. I got to get to class, but I'll see you around" Leto told him before he could ask any questions. "I'll definitely see you around campus." she thought.
Class was hard to focus in. All Leto could think about was Edward, he was timid and shy. His big brown eyes was full of doubt, and insecurity. She pictured his lips on hers as she took his virginity, an act of kindness before she... A harsh ring woke Leto from her daydream. Yawning, she gathered her stuff.
"I'll read the book, and get notes from someone later." Leto thought, moving on to her next class. The day dragged on after that. The classes were boring, long and almost painful. Leto often found herself thinking about him.
"Can you come get me?"she texted Leo, after the fourth class "I'm not feeling well."
"No, point in going to my next class if I can't focus." She thought, waiting for Leo to text her back. Five minutes passed. "Come on, you asshole" she hissed. "You didn't even go to class today." A young girl stopped in front of Leto, her red hair was wild, and her slim face was filled with freckles.
"Hey, aren't you in my classes?" she asked. Leto studied her for a second, the girl was build like a slightly taller dwarf.
"I'm not actually sure?" Leto tried being nice, maybe she can snag notes from her.
"Okay, look. I don't care why, but I saw you were out of it today. So I took some extra notes for you." she held the papers out. Leto went to grab them, only to have it all snatched away. "I can take notes for you in class for a fee." she smirked.
"Oh? " Leto smiled. She's always enjoyed people who can make a profit.
"Yeah, I take notes for you in class. You then pay me. Hell, I'll even copy your handwriting. Notebook grades are what? Twenty percent of our grade? Plus I can tutor too, in case notes aren't enough"
"For how much?" Leto was caught, this could free up time in the classroom to think, or sleep, even work on class assignments.
"200 a class for a semester. I'll do the rest of the semester for 50 a class, but only for a cutie like yourself" she said looking Leto up and down.
"What's your name?" Leto cautiously asked.
"Karan Adar. What do you say, Leto Pius?" Karan held her hand out.
Leto pulled out 25 dollars from her bag, and handed it over.
"For today's notes. I'll think about the rest of your offer"
"Thank you" Karan smiled, handing Leto the much needed notes from her class.
"I'll give you more when I get the chemistry notes from today. For now, I'm going home." She told the red head as she walked towards the exit.
"You got it, boss"
Leto continued her way to the front gate. Her mind couldn't think enough about this boy. He was special, someone she needed. Her buzzing phone snatched away her thoughts, "Sorry, kiddo. I'm here now, you ready?" Leo texted her. She got to the front to see Leo standing in front of his motorcycle. He kissed her on the forehead before handed her a helmet.
"Your head wasn't warm. What's wrong" He asked, as he straddled the motorcycle.
"Just not feeling like myself"
"You've been different since that day, maybe you need to talk to a therapist" His voice was filled with concern. Leto ignored him as she got on the bike, hugging him closely from behind. He sighed, and started the bike. She watched the trees fly by as they headed home. Her thoughts were filled with Edward. Picturing him gasping as she rode him, and when they finished she'd sink a long knife deep into his chest, watching the light in his eyes flee. She grinned brightly, burying her head into Leo's back, "Edward will be my first kill"
