The Familiars

Kailyn's POV

There, on the floor was a bloody....

Raised tile. One of the tiles in the back part of the room was sticking up. Not quite broken into pieces but lifted up. I bent down, wincing at the stinging from my open cut. It was fake tile. Well it was tile but it was as if it wasn't supposed to be there. I grabbed the sharp edge and lifted it up all the way. Now these tiles were huge. Only like 30 filling up the whole room.

K: guys check this out!!!!!

D & L: what is it?!

A huge hole was revealed. I slowly stick my hand in it. Not able to feel any type of ending or ground. The bright light in the middle of the room showing some of the deep dark hole.

L: holy crap

D: what the heck is this??

K: I have no clue. How the heck is there a hole in the ground? And why does it smell like rat crap?!

L: I'm not sure if I want to find out....

D: what is holding this floor in place? there is literally just an abyss beneath us!

K: I'm not sur....

All of the sudden, the floor starts to crack and give in.

K: umm guys!

L: what's happening?!!!

We all stand up and stumble over and attempt to stuff some of our supplies into our shirts. I then fall to my knees as more of the floor falls down.

D: we are going to die aren't we!!!!!!

L: don't say that!!! we don't know what's down there!!!!

K: I love you guys!!!!!

D & L: we love you!!!

The floor was on its last life. We were all lined up against the wall as the tile started to break even closer towards us.

K: I don't know what's about to happen but just remember, whenever you land just tuck and roll. I know it sounds stupid but just do it!!

L: I don't know if we will even be alive to even think about doing that!!

K: just try your best, if we even have a small chance that we are going to make it then just try!!

D: we will. We don't even know how far it...

The tile gives out from under us. We all start to fall. All of the sudden, my life flashes before my eyes. I start to remember vague memories from when I was a child and from my teen years. I see myself when I first met Lauren. That one day on the school bus. Then I see my 16th birthday party and when I had my first kiss. All of these old memories overwhelm me and allow my body to relax. I'm still falling. Unaware of Lauren or Daniel. A memory of me and my dad appears. When he first taught me how to drive. All of the sudden, I am interrupted with Lauren's ear piercing screech.

L: GROUND!!! I SEE GROUND!!!!!!

D: GUYS TUCK AND ROLL!

I struggle to turn over but finally have my belly facing down. I had been on my back. I then open my eyes and see color. I cant quite make out what it is but then it starts getting bigger and bigger. I am finally reaching the ground. About to hit the bottom. Before I know it I face plant into something soft and rubbery and immediately black out.

A couple hours later....

I wake up, but don't open my eyes at first. After a few minutes I feel stinging on my back. I move my arms around and realize that I'm on a medical table. My arms are secure. So are my ankles. I finally open my eyes and try to sit up. Yanking at my arms and legs trying to escape. The things holding me in place are belts. I have different clothes on. A black crop top and black joggers. I look over to my left and see Daniel. Also in different clothes, no sign of life. Maybe he is just knocked out. I really hope I'm not the only that survived the fall. I then look to my left and see Lauren. In the same outfit as me. I get chills at the thought that someone stripped us down while we were knocked out. I then look around me. We are in a room. Beige walls and white flooring. Only an unoperating clock hangs from the wall. A white door with a silver handle is in front of us. The only decoration is our three metal tables. No IVs thankfully. Just belts. I then lay back down. Trying to slow down my heartbeat, I have bad anxiety. This doesn't make it any better. I almost fall asleep, but I am awoken my the screaming and panicking of Lauren. She doesn't see me. She is just laying down and rolling and tossing like a caged animal. Her screams getting louder with every second that goes by. I then heard shifting to the left of me. Daniel sits up and starts to panic, tears in his eyes as he struggles to undo the belts.

K: GUYS GUYS DO YOU NOT SEE ME?!

L: OMG KAILYN WHERE ARE WE?! *balling*

D: how long have we been here? how long have you been awake? did we even fall? was I dreaming? where are we? what do..

K: Daniel!!!! Calm down!!!! I just woke up to!! All I know is that we are stuck here!! and yes we really did fall, all I remember is falling and then everything went black!!! you have to calm down!!

They both lay back down, breathing extremely heavy. I do the same, tears stinging my eyes.

K: I don't know who put us here!! and I don't want them coming back!! we have to be quiet

L: I'm scared

K: me too me too.

D: we need to get out of these be...!

Daniel is interrupted with the sound of my shushing. I point to the door and tell them to shut up and lay down. The door knob is wiggling, someone is about to come in. I lay down and motion for them to both close their eyes, to pretend to be knocked out. I do the same. I slow down my breathing as much as possible and wait in anticipation. All of the sudden, the door swings open. A guy is talking. His voice is terrifyingly familiar. Then another voice interrupts. This one even more familiar. I immediately know who they are. I feel tears fill my eyelids. Trying my hardest not to make a sound. The voices were coming from...
