Roomies

Blue POV

"No fucking way in the world." I sipped on my green tea. Me and Karen, my foster mom, went out to decide my "Future".

"You need to consider it, now I already have some on call, but just trust me okay? It fits the budget right now. Weather it's girl or boy."

I huffed. I like the little piece of personal space I had in our house. Meanwhile she wants me to share an apartment with a total stranger. College is a key for my household. Everyone of Karen's kids, or foster kids grew up and went to college. I might have to too. After all, if I do agree to have a roomie, she agreed to pay my half of the rent for six months until I get a job, and she's paying for my whole college tuition. So I can't argue with that but ... Im not fond of living with complete strangers.

"Fine" I mumbled.

"Great!" She exclaimed in excitement. My heart leaped seeing her so happy. Shes like a real mother to me. She took me in when my real mother got sick. I don't even know why we're on a budget, I mean she's filthy rich for goodness sake!

"Okay here are some of your choices, firstly Duke:



She gestured towards the screen and I took a peak.

"Erm.... Probably not, he looks like he gets high 24/7"

"Ok, What about Lexi?"



"Nah, she looks too prissy. Next!"

"That's, fair... Okay what about Cole"



I took a glance. Was she tricking me? I shook my head and laughed. I mean.... He's hot..So why does he need a roommate?

"What's so funny?" She laughed with me.

"Karen...He's fucking gorgeous"

"Language Blue! Now what are you going on about?" She rampered

"He could literally be a model, and he needs a roommate?"

"Well, the boy's on Budget. So is that a Yes or No?"

"I don't know about this Karen..." I bit my lip.

"Well you don't have a choice Blue, so Yes, you have an apartment, or no, your homeless." She said in all seriousness.

"Fine okay yes" I responded quickly. I can't stomach the thought of being homeless after what my mom went through. Shes currently in a Mental institution. If it wasn't for Karen I would have lost my mom and I wouldn't be here today and I'm internally grateful for that.

Guess I was gonna have to deal with these hunk.

"Cool, now we can go." She grabbed her tea, and I followed.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To church, Lord knows you need it." I laughed. Off to church we go I guess.

After church

"Thanks Karen, I needed that" I said softly putting my head on her shoulder. She smiled in satisfaction.

"Anytime Blue."

We arrived at her house, and look at magazines on houses until one caught my eye.

"Oh Oh, Karen can I get this one!!" I squealed like a five year old.

"Sure, if your roommate agrees on it. We can meet up tomorrow if you want." She urged. My heart did a little happy dance. The sooner the better, I thought.

"Okay" I finished and went upstairs to take a shower. I gathered some clothes, socks, and underwear and went into the bathroom. I needed a long shower to clear my mind. I thought over the nightmares I used to have about my mom.

"Cause you areee unforgettableeeee Whyyyy did you have to goooo ohhhhh" I sang to the music coming from my phone, putting my clothes on. I snuggled myself in my blankets, ready to doze off.
