Mr.Grayson's (Kyle's) POV
"Um M-Mr.Grayson. Do you need something?"
I found it interesting how me doing the slightest things could get her all flustered. I couldn't deny the fact that actually somewhat liked it.
"I was wondering if you would accept the offer of helping me review all those papers I handed out today."
She crosses her arms and throws a firm glare my way in the semi-lit room.
"Why hand out papers if you don't have the will to grade them all?"
"Hmm. I guess you have a point there. Anyway, are you going to help or not?"
She scrunches up her nose as if conflicted between what answer to give. Sending my blood pumping faster and to a specific part I might say. I couldn't help but blurt out how adorable she looked.
"You know, that's a face you should make more often. Its cute."
I absentmindedly compliment her. Kyle what the hell are you doing!? I mentally face palm myself for coming off this strong when she's purely a senior and since this is a huge taboo. She glances up at me, her jaw nearly coming unhinged with a shockingly embarrassed expression.
"U-um....."
"I'm sorry, forget I said that."
I quickly apologize, unknowingly moving a tad bit closer to her. My head told me to back up but I momentarily disregarded it and leaned further in, only to give her a friendly pat atop her crown before nonchalantly pulling away.
"Ugh never mind. I have to go, my friend is waiting for me."
She rushes out the door and I couldn't help but laugh to myself. She seemed like the shy type of person, making me think that I should probably slow down. But that doesn't mean I'm giving up just yet. She seemingly intrigues me when I only just met her which is honestly uncommon. But, is she intriguing to me enough to risk and sacrifice it all? I guess only time will tell.
This job switch will be more interesting than I originally thought.
McKenzie's POV
I jump out of Jake's car and rush up the stairs into my room, flopping on my bed heavily. I touch my cheeks and realize they're dangerously hot. Ugh, what is wrong with that man. He shouldn't do things like that. And why am I getting all flustered over it! Well I mean who wouldn't. He's like the guy in every females sexy fantasy.
I'm just glad Jake didn't question anything. Yet. I unwillingly recall the incident that took place only moments ago, an unwanted shiver running down my spine as I think back to it. His voice was drilled into my head. I rush to the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face in attempt to get rid of these unruly thoughts.
A sigh pushes past my lips as I silently walk back into my room, burying myself into the blankets. My body sinks into the soft plush bed and I exhale lowly at the relaxing sensation. During the ever so relaxing state, I recall that my mom wasn't going to be home will late tonight, prompting the realization that I'd have to cook myself something to eat tonight.
I unconsciously run my fingers through the hair he had touched, ultimately deciding that I needed to get some sleep since my brain is mentally exhausted. It was only four something in the afternoon but oh well, you can never turn down sleep. I blink heavily a couple times before closing my eyes, only for them to fly back open at the sound of my phone buzzing beside me.
I reluctantly sit up and grab it from atop my night stand. It was Jake asking me if something was wrong. Like I said before, he's a damn mind reader when it comes down to me. After replying with a quick 'I'm fine', I set my phone back down and sink back into the bed. Within minutes, the darkness of slumber is infiltrating my body.
