"Are you guys ready? I've been waiting on the tittle screen for like five minutes!" I irritatedly yelled into the kitchen from the couch."You won't be complaining when you're eating delicious popcorn during this movie!" Dan walked out of the kitchen with a smirk and Grace wasn't far behind with a massive bowl of popcorn.
Grace sat to the right of me and Dan sat on my left. I picked up the remote but just before I could press play Dan interjected.
"Wait! Let me use the bathroom really quickly"
"C'mon dude let's go!" I said as he scurried up the stairs.
I sat back to see that Grace was slightly closer than she was before, and was slowly moving closer.
"Now that he's gone, are you going to kiss me already?"
I didn't think I liked Grace in that type of way but something pulled my lips closer to hers. A feeling of nervousness grew stronger and stronger as our bodies moved in sync towards each other. I closed my eyes but just before our lips could touch I woke up gasping for air.
I jolted upright in my bed and looked around my sun lit room. I couldn't believe what I had dreamt. I turned to the right and kicked my feet off of my bed to get ready for school. I got dressed and walked downstairs to eat some nasty granola bar then head out towards my bus stop. I waited until Dan, my best friend, got on the bus to tell him all about the dream.
"So wait I was in it right?" Dan asked while biting into a Granny Smith apple.
"Dude that's not the point! I don't know what that means about my feelings toward Grace!" My face dropped but I quickly picked it up to hide my confusion from Dan.
"Well I don't know man, if I were in your place, I would talk to her about it" He said while crunching on the last bits of his apple.
I thought about confronting her about it. It could ruin our friendship, but it could also change a lot of things between Grace and I.
"Yeah thanks D, I just might talk to her." I turned and looked out the window, falling asleep after a couple of minutes of looking out on the way to school.
When we arrived I trudged through the main entrance and toward my locker. I always keep it unlocked and there isn't any decoration on it, just a plain brown locker. I swung the door shut and immediately saw Grace. All I could do was stare and think about the dream.
"Hey Scott, what's up?" Grace walked over to me with a smile, pushing some of her dirty blonde hair behind her ear.
"Nothing but I wanted to tell you about this dream I had about you- you and Dan"
"Oh yeah? What happened?" Her brow slightly furrowed.
"We um - we watched this weird movie, when I woke up I thought it was real."
"Cool! Well I'll see you in chemistry." She waved goodbye and walked away.
I didn't know how to feel. Grace was one of my best friends and I cared about her a lot, but I didn't know what to do about my confused feelings.
