I heard pages turn frantically before a loud "AH HA! Here it is!".
He made a loud, croaky cough before swiping his shoulders and pushing up his imaginary tie.
"Now, lets see," Alesten sneered. He ran his finger down the page until he was satisfied that I was scared out of my mind. "As I have met you before, I know what you're like. So, you have two choices. I can either kill you now, or later."
My mind was racing. If I said later, then I would die a slow and painful death, but if I said now, then it would be all over. Everything would all be over.
I took a deep breath and said "Now. I want to die now." I could feel my heart skip several beats. As soon as I had said it, I knew it was the wrong idea, I would've have more of a chance to escape if I had said later.
"Are you sure?" He asked suspiciously. Was this a real question?
I nodded, but I was kicking myself that I didn't say no.
I expected Alasten's face to be more exited or smug, but no, it was nervous and worried. I was obviously staring at him for some time, as he snapped "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT CHILD!!" I now knew what I could do.
Mess with him.
