I grabbed a seat at a desk and began to research on the computer. I had been given some pretty odd looks by the people in the library. My jacket for the most part covered up my blood stains, but that didn't distract from the fact that I looked like shit and was carrying a very bulky bag and a tape bound book.

I continued where I left off looking for strange signs of demons. Of course they had already been hear so I looked at the surrounding areas. Finally, after half an hour of searching I found something worth investigating. About tow towns from here there was brutal cow mutalations and groups of people going missing. The newspaper even had a picture for the article. It showed a bunch of people at a town hall meeting discussing the actions they needed to take. I was about to close out of the picture when something, or more like someone caught my eye.

It was him, it was the little boy that went missing, he sat next to a woman who seemed to be watching him intently. I did not know the boys name, but I knew it had to be the boy, it just had to be. I quickly printed off the article and grabbed my stuff.

"Excuse me, but do you know of any bus services in the area?", I asked the librarian. She looked me up and down suspiciously before replying, "No, sorry no bus services, no taxi services either. There is however a train stop in a town thirty miles north of here"

I thanked her and walked out of the library. Quickly asessing which direction I was facing, I began to walk north. I had two options, I could whine like a baby and stay in town, or I could tough it out and walk for the rest of the day. I only hope the train stop takes credit cards.

I had been walking or more like painfully limping for about five miles thankful that the weather was decent and I had eaten a lot this morning. As usual dad was always right. It kind of pissed me off that even now he dictated my life. I suddenly heard a car engine rumble closer and closer to me. Suddenly I felt a large shadow approach to my left. "Excuse me? Would you like a ride?", a man in his fifties asked me. He actually seemed pretty harmless. He was driving a Prius for Christ's sake. I knew I could take him so I decided why not. "Sure, thanks", I replied getting into the seat next to him.

I investigated his car for any signs of serial killer or demon, all I saw was asuitcase in the backseat with a suit hanging over it. This man seemed like your ordinary suburbia business man. "Where to?", he asked as we began to drive again.

"Just take me to the nearest form of public transportation please"

"Where you going?", he asked. It was none of his business but what did it matter.

"Couple towns from here, Lincoln I think", I replied. That was about as much as I knew about the town I was headed to.

"That's not too far, how about I just take you there myself?", the man offered.

"Are you sure? I wouldn't want to impose"

"Oh, it's no problem. Besides we are all God's children", he began.

Oh great, here we go another believer. Not that I thought anything bad of religious people. In fact I like to believe there is a God. But after all the shit I have seen, sometimes I question is God even cares. Quickly trying to change the subject I asked, "So what's your name?"

"Jack Wilson, and you are?"

"Lena, Lena Abrams", I answered honestly.

"Well, Lena what is bringing you to the small town of Lincoln?"

"Funeral of a family friend, my car broke down a few towns over and wouldn't be fixed until tomorrow so I decided to try and walk", I lied. After lying practically your entire life it becomes natural. What's hard is telling the truth.
