As a baby,
I don't remember much
Just your kind smile when I go to bed
And your presence when I wake you up from crying in the middle of the night.

As a child,
You tucked me in at night,
You scared away all the monsters under my bed.
And you scolded the shadows in the closet,
You taught me that no matter how hard life is, that family is first
You taught me that love can overcome anything:
Through the tough times and the sad,
That's why I'm so glad that you're my Dad
You taught me how to ride a bike, even though I was scared
And you picked me up whenever I fell.
As a child, you were always there to help me and I'm so glad that you were because

As a teenager,
I have been rude and disrespectful,
But you are still here for me
You help me when I am sad
Or when it's late at night and I haven't finished a project
You are still there to scare away the monsters under my bed
And scold the shadows in my closet.
You taught me how to dive
Even though I'm scared of drowning.
You taught me how to drive
You taught me how to take care of myself

But no matter how old I am,
I will always need you.
I love you Dad.
