Crimson is the Color of Uncertain Fate

The lecture went as it usually had, boring and unoriginal to the point that my focus was off the lesson and out the window. If there was anything that teachers seemed to lack it was uniqueness-on second thought, this entire town did. It was as if everyday were on repeat, the same old walks to school and strolls back to the suburbs, were routines that I'd be happy without. The homework I'd finish in less than an hour and the family dinners are all I wished I could skip out on. I was tired. Tired of everyday's unexciting plans for me. The bell echoed through the halls, barely breaking me from my daydreams. It was cuing me, mocking me...

I heard a throat clear as I got up from my seat to leave. Suigetsu stood behind me with his bag slung over his shoulder carelessly, "You walking home with us today, Sasuke?"

I sighed, remembering that it was Friday. The same day the guys would go down to the river bottom to drink alcohol they scored from Juugo and play an excessively long game of smash or pass, "No."

"Ah, come on man. You're always skipping out on us. I'm sure it'll be find with your parents. Naruto even got Hinata, Ino, and Sakura to come with us," He tried to convince me with his toothy grin. "We all know Ino and Sakura got the hots for you."

His smirk danced on his face, waiting for me to say yes. I knew there was no end to this when it came to Suigetsu, "Fine, but I can't drink. My dad will kick my ass if there's even a hint of alcohol on my breath."

"Alright, score!" He cheered as I rolled my eyes.

Their chests pressed against me as the blonde and pinkette shamelessly clung to my arms, the two of them fighting for dominance in a mental tug-of-war. The bottle of freshly opened beer was passed around as we sat on large stumps of logs near the rushing water. I drowned out their conversations, watching the leaves from the Sycamores flow down stream. This isn't what I mean by changing things up. Sakura tilted her head up at me, patiently waiting for me to stare back at her, "It's your turn Sasuke, truth of dare?"

"Neither," I responded harshly, causing her to stick out her lip and pout.

"Oh come on Sasuke," Ino insisted, but I just stood up, rescuing my arms from their grasps.

"See ya guys," I waved them off, leaving them without so much as a warning. They were too drunk to care, their low tolerance keeping them from reacting to departure. For the first time today, I wanted to go home and kick my shoes off to start on my homework. To say the least, I was desperate to get out of there.

As soon as I reached my house, I noticed an unfamiliar truck pulled up to the drive way next door. We had no neighbors that lived on the corner house. It hadn't been occupied in years due to the extensive mold problems the previous residents experienced. Apparently it had been a growing concern since their old age was a messy combination that risked their health. I just hope the new tenants don't have the same problem.

The moment I entered my house, I could hear my father's footsteps approaching. Why his? Well, I could tell the way they vibrated the floor and pounded firmly on the wood, that he was upset with me, "Hey dad."

"Hey dad? Are you serious? Where have you been? You were supposed to be home three hours ago," My father lectured with his arms tightly crossed.

"I was just hanging out with my friends," I sighed, slipping off my muddy shoes.

"What's that smell?" My father asked, widening his nostrils to sniff the air. I figured he guessed what it was as his eyes widened and towered down on me in a glare. Here it comes... "Were you drinking?"

"No," I said, slumping passed him. Before I could competely escape upstairs to my bedroom, his hand clutched onto my arm, making it turn red where his fingers pressed.

"No? You were out drinking. You don't get to just walk away from this," he began to raise his voice.

"I didn't drink, I left because I was bored of watching them drool over girls and drink from the same bottle," I confessed, raising both of my eyebrows in an impatient matter. He loosened his hold on me and went back to crossing his arms across his chest.

"Girls?" My dad deeply inhaled and huffed out in frustration.

"Save the guy talk. I don't like any of the girls around here, they're all the same..." I said, mimicking his stance. Our eyes challenged each other, facing off in a glaring match that neither of us planned on losing.

"Enough you two. Sasuke, go upstairs and finish your homework. Fugaku, come with me to meet the neighbors will you?" My mother interrupted, dragging my father out the front door. She may have asked him, but she sure as hell wasn't asking a question.

I headed upstairs to my room, my messenger bag dragging on the carpet behind me. My neck was sore, much like my back. No doubt that it was because of this damn bag anyways. I threw it on my bed and started getting dressed, taking my uniform off to change into something more comfortable. But as I walked by my window, I saw a flash of red in the corner of my eyes. Red. I walked back to the window, searching for the color that had caught my sleepy eyes. Sure enough, there it was--there she was. Her back was turned to the dusty window, undressing out of jeans and a t-shirt. Her crimson hair being moved over her shoulder to reveal the back of her strapless lacey bra. I wanted to keep watching, every part of myself urging for her. I didn't understand how I could be drawn to someone I didn't know.

Whether is be fate or my unfortunate luck, as I was caught in daze with her curvaceous body, she turned around to exchange glances through the window. A devious smirk crept on her face before she turned her back to me again, slowly unhooking her bra. I closed my curtains before I could witness anymore, my breathing more short and hourse than it's been and my heart pounding loudly against my chest.

Who was she?
