~Sasuke~
Her legs crossed like intersecting braids, switching legs every ten minutes to adjust to the uncomfortable cafeteria benches. My eyes traced up her thigh, following it until I became too nervous to continue. I cleared my throat, tearing my gaze away from the redhead I found myself distracted by for the past week and turned towards the not-so-attractive, middle aged janitor on the opposite side of the room to deflect my craving for her. "Way too obvious," Naruto teased.
"Shut up, idiot," I glared at my blonde-idiot of a friend.
"Well, you aren't exactly subtle about it," He dragged on, stuffing the rest of his sandwich into his mouth. His sentence was barely coherent due to the fact that he was trying to eat and speak at the same time. But knowing Naruto since we were kids, I knew he was adding to the wound.
"It's better than being completely oblivious," I chuckled, knowing he wouldn't understand in the slightest about who I was talking about. I could see him beginning to get upset and defensive, "Forget it. I was only kidding."
"Well why not just go talk to her?" Naruto suggested, shrugging off my previous comment.
"Why not just pull a kamikaze?" I sarcastically asked, " A girl like that doesn't put up with bullshit from guys like me," I sighed, taking a bite of my apple.
"I guess, but sometimes life is about chances, ya know?" He said, getting up from his seat to throw away his tray.
Life's about chances, huh? I smirked at his words, not taking notice of the eyes that had managed to settle on me. They pierced me, cut me open like open heart surgery and examined my deepest thoughts. Those velvet stained eyes stared until I stared back.

"Sasuke, you sure you don't want a ride? My mom said she'd take us for a bite to eat," Naruto invited as he leaned on the hood of his mom's car.
"Nah, I have a lot of work for class to get done. But maybe next time," I rejected.
"Alright, Suit it yourself. See you tomorrow!" He shrugged, getting into the car with his mom.
"See ya," I waved as they pulled away.
"You know, if you're not busy, wanna walk me home?" Her voice called to me. It sent shivers down my spine over how soft she spoke, I could listen to her for hours. "Well?"
"Uh-Yeah," I swallowed, swinging my bag over my shoulder.
Karin walked beside me, her arms crossed behind her back and her lip tucked under her top teeth. I stared forward, with the occasional, subtle glance to the side, trying to hide the deep red that covered my cheeks. Why was I so nervous? I'd been around plenty of girls before, and none of them ever phased me or crossed my mind more than once. But she, she was different. I gravitated toward her unexpectedly and couldn't stop myself from thinking about her when my thoughts lingered.
"Why are you so quiet?" She bluntly asked.
"I'm not sure," I cleared my throat to fill that silent pause that followed my uninteresting answer. Surely I could find something better to say than that.
"You're not sure?" She almost scoffed.
"Well, I guess I'm not completely sure what to talk about," I confessed, hoping that that was enough of a reason for her.
"Are you sure that's why?," Karin questioned, as if she already knew why I curved any chance at a conversation with her. "Is it because I make you nervous?"
"What?" I responded, completely startled by her words.
"I said, do I make you nervous?" She repeated, slower this time, tugging the end of my uniform's sleeve to stop me from walking. I couldn't help but turn to look at her. She stared up at me, eyes and lips pouting, begging for a bit of truth. And in all honesty, she did make me nervous, more so than I liked to admit. But I didn't want to let her know that every time she was around, I lost my composure and forgot how to speak.
