Y/N POV:

"Y/N it's literally been 22 hours since the split, get out of bed." Veronica said standing near my nightstand.

"Exactly. 22 hours is still so soon after Ronnie. I don't want to go to Cheryl's party tonight." I replied shoving my face back in my pillows.

"Well you are. You haven't been single in almost a year, you're hot, and you're sulking... this is the best time to party."

"Well... what if Jugheads there? I don't want to see him quite yet. Plus I don't look the greatest, I haven't slept in about a day and I've been crying constantly, my dark circles are so bad, I look dead-"

"You don't look bad, stop whining," she laughed sitting on my bed with me, "and nothing a little concealer can't help. Plus do you really think Jugheads going to be at the party? He never goes to parties." Ronnie did have a point. No way in hell would I see Jughead Jones at one of Cheryl's bashes.

"I don't know Ronnie-"

"Y/N please! I promise you'll have fun!" She pleaded. During mine and Jugheads relationship, I had been to one party before, but avoided them because he never wanted to go. God, I shouldn't have based my decisions around him, I mentally slapped myself.

"What do I wear?" I sighed and Veronica squealed.

"Here! I already found an outfit!" She threw my own clothes at me. It was black high rise ripped skinny jeans and one of her black, off the shoulder croptops.

"Is this your shirt?" I asked.

"Yeah you mentioned you loved it at one of our hangouts and why not lend it to you for a night? You'd look stunning in it and I want you to feel confident tonight." She smiled.

"Thanks Ronnie, you're amazing." She really was. I usually wore graphic tees or just dark colors.

"You are too." She smiled. After I got dressed I looked in the mirror and felt like a more modern version of Sandy from Grease and giggled, "what?"

"I look like Sandy from Grease."

"You just need a little extra something." She thought to herself for a little bit, "wanna wear my lucky pearls?" She quirked an eyebrow.

"Okay." I giggled, I had never worn pearls before. She took off the beautiful piece of jewelry that adorned her neck and put it around mine. I felt as if I looked elegant, yet sorta edgy.

"Can I please do your makeup?" She asked.

"Yeah!" I was somewhat excited. It was like I was having a whole transformation, it'd only last tonight but what Veronica was doing helped me in a strange way.

While Ronnie was putting on my eyeshadow we were just having normal conversation and the question I was waiting for was soon asked, "Y/N... why did you and Jughead break up?"

"Okay so I told Jughead the news about me thinking about trying out for the cheerleading team... because as much as I tease you and Betty about being River Vixens, deep down I sorta wanted to be one. I told him and he was a little taken aback you could say. He got a little angry for some reason and brought up how I've been going to the mall with you and Betty more, how I wanted to be a River Vixen, and even asked him if he wanted to come with to the party tonight before the breakup. After he brought all that up, he told me 'it's like you're trying to be them.'"
