I stepped out of the car, already tired of the fake smile I'd have to put on my face and pretend I actually care about what my mothers associates have to say.
Not friends, mother doesnt have friends.
I sent a pleading look to Safina as she drove away and she offered me a sympathetic half smile though her face looked more amused than anything.
Traitor.
I raised my arm to knock on the door but before I could, it opened for me.
Ok wow magic.I groaned when I saw who'd opened the door. Milo freaking Andrews.
"Why are you even here?" I asked, impatiently shoving him aside and entering my home. I dragged myself through the hall, knowing Milo was going to follow me.
"Family business" He said, his voice strained. Both of us knew that when our families met up, there was always talk of money. And legalties were forgotten. We had a meeting room in the house for this very purpose.
"Hows the forehead" I said in an attempt to change the topic, a stupid grin taking over my face as I remembered what happened at school today.
He groaned "Wyatt spent the entire day hounding me about your existence" Figures, I dont expect the "golden quarterback" of the school to know every girl in his senior class, let alone me, no matter how much of a player he is.
I chuckled "You didn't tell him, did you?"
He shrugged "I applied one of my infamous glares. They still work" before shooting me an incredulous look, probably wondering why I was asking.
"Well atleast the fall couldnt knock out any more braincells considering you dont have any" The banter-loving side of me coming out, sending the conversation in a different direction.
He let out a snort as he followed me up the stairs "You're the one to speak, clinging on to Wyatts back like that. Tarzan or hoe, I cant decide"
I rolled my eyes thinking 'weak' as I shoved open the door to my room. Milo bumped his butt with mine sending me flying across the entrance before he shot towards my bed and jumped.
I groaned as I got up, my butt aching "I hate you"
He shrugged, closing his eyes and letting out deep breaths. "So what happened today exactly?"
I looked up to meet his gaze and smiled innocently "Dont know what youre talking about other than you breaking my glaases, youre paying for those by the way" I added a glare at the end.
I knew he was rolling his eyes without even looking at him. Typical Milo. I settled in my beanbag chair letting my body relax.
"How many are going to be over this time?" I asked, rolling to the side. Another thing the Andrews and The thornes liked to do when they met up was to throw parties.
"None actually. Theyre leaving for a trip" Milos eyes twinkled as he sat up. Oh god that cant be anything good.
I immediately refused to acknowledge any of his suggestions "Nonono"
His face dropped "Just one party?" He shot me one of his puppy dog expressions. If the world knew that East View Highs resident badboy was this adorable, he'd probably lose much of his street rep. ...or just gain more.
Poor Milo, he just doesnt like many people and by highschools typical stereotypes, that makes him a "badboy" it doesnt help that he's got rugged good looks and a leather jacket. And hes got an abundance of snark, sarcasm and the ability to piss people off without even trying. Believe me ive been a victim. Oh and also, he packs a killer punch. Courtesy of yours truly.
