New Start Pt. 2

I started downstairs for breakfast. The sweet aroma had my tummy growling and mouth watering. I couldn't wait to smash.

As I made it to the kitchen, I heard my mama humming and mixing something while my daddy was holding her around her waist. I smiled widely. My parent's love for eachother was undendeniable.  I frowned for a brief second as I thought about my non-existing love life. I hoped to one day find a love like theirs one day.

I snapped a quick picture of them. "Aww look at the beautiful couple," I gushed while holding a hand over my heart. They spun around with a startled look on their faces. "Girl don't be sneaking up on us like that, scared the shit outta me," my mama fussed at me. I giggled "Sorry ma, y'all just looked so cute all in love and stuff," I said while sitting at the table. "Why thank you baby girl," my father said while kissing me on my forehead and sitting down too. "Mmm mama you got it smelling so good in here. What you make?". "Some of everything baby some grits, cheesy eggs, crispy bacon, sausage, waffles, hash browns and some fruit,". I stared at her for a moment in shock. "Dang ma what's the occasion you don't ever cook this much food," I asked filling my plate with some of everything. "Why your last year of high school of course," she said excitedly. I rolled my eyes while chewing on a piece of bacon and looked down at my plate. "What's the matter sweetheart," my dad asked rubbing my back. "I'm just so nervous daddy, I'm not gonna know anybody," I looked at him with sad eyes. He gave me a big hug while kissing my head. "You're gonna be fine baby girl I know you miss your friends at your other school but I'm sure you'll make new ones,". I scoffed, "What friends daddy, I've practically been a loner my entire life,". My mama put her hands on her wide hips, " Now you listen to me you are only 17 years old girl you have your entire life to make friends and whoever doesn't it's their lost because they won't get to know that beautiful spirit you have," she said while hugging me as well. "Thank you mama I appreciate it". "I'm just telling the truth honey now hurry up and eat for you late for your first day,". I cleaned my plate then washed it down with a cold glass of OJ. I washed my plate and sat it in the rack. "Alright my peeps I'm out," I said while hugging them both and kissing their cheeks. "Okay baby girl have fun," they both replied. "Ugh fun and school do not belong in the same sentence," I said while grabbing my things. We all laughed and I grabbed my keys off the hook.

I locked up and jumped in my truck. I had to GPS the damn school cause I couldn't remember where the hell it was. Once I had it set up, I pulled off and began driving. It took me not even 15 minutes to get there. I parked in the student parking lot, grabbed my stuff, and got out. I looked up at the school with my mouth ajar. "Damn this bitch big asf I know my ass bout to be lost for days," I grumbled to myself while making my way to the entrance.

As I walked in I seen kids lining the halls, couples making out, boys smacking girls' asses, you name it. I just shook my head and kept walking let somebody smack my ass they gone die today I thought myself. I stopped once I seen the sign that said office and walked in. The lady looked up at me and smiled "Hi honey you looking for your schedule,". I nodded my head "Yes ma'am I am,". "Okay just give me your name," she said while staring at the computer. "Dakarai Arnold's," I said getting closer to the desk.  "Pretty name for a pretty girl," she briefly looked up at me and smiled. "Thank you," I blushed. "You welcome honey alright here you go," she said handing me the paper. "Thank you so much," I said smiling. She just smiled while going back to her computer. I walked back out while staring at the paper. "Okay soooo Mr. Johnson for English 12 is room 1200," I said to myself and began walking. I literally was walking for 5 minutes lost as fuck. The bell had already rung and it was just a few people left in the halls.

I was about to go back to the office until two twin girls shouted at me, "Hey boo, you need help?,". "Oh my God yes please," I blew out a breath. They giggled while taking my schedule. I stared at them for a moment they were beautiful. One had long cornrows braided to one side of her shoulder and the other had her curly hair cut short. They both were wearing light makeup enhancing their natural beauty. "Oh girl we all got the same classes we can definitely show you around," they laughed. "Thank you so much..." I paused waiting for them to tell me their names. "I'm Stacie" the one with the short hair said. "And I'm Tracie" the one with the braids said. "Nice to meet y'all I'm Dakarai or Daka" I said while shaking their hands. "You too girl by the way you so pretty and that out fit is bomb" Stacie said while her twin nodded in agreeance. "Aww thank you so are y'all," I said cheesing. "Thanks boo but just follow us girl " they said in unison.

As I followed behind them I wondered Could they be potential friends?.
