Chapter six: Improvements

We got a few windows into place in our house now. We have only two windows in our house but we really only need two as our house is only one story tall. One is on the front wall next to the door and the other is kitty-cornered to it on the left wall (if you look at it from the wall with the door). After they were in place we looked out the front window and saw everyone walking about talking or doing stuff. Allison saw us and waved to us and we waved back cheerfully.
"Alright, let's go give the other houses windows." London said walking to the door.
"Hang on a sec. I have a gift for you." I replied. I moved to the crafting table again and took out the leather I had in my inventory. Back when I was hunting the animals, I hunted some cows, and cows give leather as well as beef. I had 14 leather so I could make some armour out of it. I decided to make two pairs of leather leggings.

I took them and gave one to London. "It's good for some added protection. And a sign of our friendship."
"Thanks Jace." She said as she put them on. I put mine on too. Unlike the armor in the regular game which was one piece, this armour was somewhat segmented. It gave at least basic protection along my thighs, knees, calves, the hip area and even my groin. It looked way more realistic than the regular game. I then added, "If you want later we can dye them different colours to make them unique."
"That would be cool. Maybe we should." She replied. London is a big fan of art and is an artist herself so I figured she would be interested.
"Come on, let's go get the other windows in place and give everyone else a view." I said. I then went to the door, opened it and went out, London in tow.
As I was walking to the next house I told London she could go and talk with her friends or just lay low and that I had the whole window situation under control. She didn't object and left me to go do something. I'll get you to the End. Whatever it takes. I promised to myself as she left, but then I got back on task and went to the next house to start work.

Maybe 10 minutes passed but by then all the houses had windows in them now, and I was proud of my work. I couldn't help smiling at all I had done since entering the game. Well... almost everything. I then noticed that I was hungry. Breaking parts of houses and adding something new in place is pretty strenuous.
I wiped my brow then pulled an apple out of my inventory (I still wasn't sure how I did it) and ate it. It tasted sweet and a bit tart, almost exactly what an apple in the real world would taste like. I savored every bite, but it was soon gone. I thought about how I could further making our houses more homey and realized: what's a house without a bed? I wasn't about to go kill more sheep but then I remembered that I found iron ore earlier and decided I would make shears out of some of it. I took it to a furnace and smelted it. After it all turned to ingots I took two and placed them in a crafting table to make shears.

I took them and went hunting again, but this time with a non-violent intent. I decided to explore the plains  this time, as you can find small to large herds of animals in plains. I searched around for maybe 5 minutes and I was about give up and head back when I heard subtle bleats on the wind. My luck stills holds! I thought to myself enthusiastically. I ran up a small rise and found a herd of about 7 or 8 sheep. "Perfect. Time to get some stuff for beds." I said as I pulled out my shears and went down into the slight valley. The sheep all milled about aimlessly, some were eating grass when I approached but they paid me no attention.

"I hope you all don't mind if I have some of your wool sheep." I said aloud for no particular reason. I then approached one of the sheep and looked down at the shears in my hands. To be honest I didn't have any idea how to use them so I just wung it. I put the shears right on the wool of the sheep next to me and I pressed the two scissor-like parts together and, with only one snip, all of the wool on the sheep popped off and fell to the ground in the form of three wool blocks. "Well, that was easy." I said aloud.
