song: eternal youth - RUDE

Chapter 1.
-----------
Snowflakes fluttered gracefully down all around him, some getting caught in his eyelashes and hair, dusting his sharp features with a soft hue of speckled white.
It's so cold.
Why is it so fucking cold in Seoul?
Jungkook thought to himself as he walked by himself back to the dorm after a particularly exhausting solo practice with choreographer-nim. His hyungs had offered to pick him up and drive him home after he was finished, but Jungkook, being the stubborn little maknae he was, insisted that "I'll be fine walking home! I'm 18 for god's sake, I'm not a child anymore", not taking into account how goddamn cold it would be.

Jungkook sighed as the wind picked up a little more harshly, and desperately pulled his scarf tighter around his face, hoping it would provide him with some source of warmth as he neared the familiar sight of the dormitory building, seeming like a much further walk than he remembered it being in the past.

The second Jungkook entered the dorm, he was immediately tackled by Jin-hyung, being the mother goose he is, frantically checking for any injuries or any signs of frostbite, before demanding that Jungkook go change into warmer clothes while he brews the freezing maknae some tea. After changing into some old sweatpants and one of Namjoonie-hyung's sweatshirt, Jungkook felt much better and trudged out of his shared bedroom, into the living room where the rest of the boys were gathered.

They seem to be all chatting animatedly about something, Hobi-hyung repeatedly looking as though he were making teasing jabs at a Jimin, who was blushing profusely. Jungkook appeared in the doorway of the room, uneasiness settling in his stomach when a wave of silence fell over the boys. "Um, hey hyungs. What's going on?" He asked tentatively.

Hobi-hyung grinned mischievously and gestured to Taehyung and Jimin, who both looked incredibly uncomfortable, to the point where it was almost comical. "Oh nothing jungkookie, just messing around with the 95 line a bit." He chided, happily ruffling Taehyung's hair, making him shift nervously.

It was clear that his hyungs were hiding something from him, and as much as that irritated him and made him feel left out, Jungkook found that he was much too cold and tired to care at the moment. So he shrugged the weird feeling off and sat down next to Yoongi-hyung who was looking very bored with the whole situation, lounging back in a reclined position, his whole body language exuding disinterest.

He glanced at Jungkook when he sat down, and sat up a little. "Hey kid, how was practice? You look like a goddamn popsicle." Yoongi's gruff voice broke the apprehensive atmosphere that had settled among the boys, much to Jungkook's relief.

"Practice was... long, to say the least. Choreographer-nim really kicked my ass this time, I'm exhausted. And yeah the walk home was a bit farther and colder than I had anticipated." Jungkook said, bowing his head bashfully at the last part. Jin's head popped out from behind the kitchen door at the maknae's words.

"Yah Jungkook! Did you just swear? Aish, I told Namjoon this kid was hanging around Yoongi too much, he's a bad influence." Jin scolded playfully. All of the boys burst out into laughter except for Yoongi, who was glaring at Jin bitterly.

"At least I don't break everything within a 5 foot radius of me like the God of Destruction over here." Yoongi retorted, elbowing Namjoon in the side, as another series of laughter echoed around the boys.

Jin sat a mug of tea in front of Jungkook and sat down next to Namjoon, wrapping an arm around him in reassurance. Jungkook spent the rest of the night surrounded by Dad jokes and warm smiles, yet for some reason he couldn't bring himself to feel happy.
