Most didn't quite believe Alfred when he tried to say he found a kid in the midst of the Alaskan landscapes during the UN meeting. Arthur and Francis insisted that there was no possible way that any new nations would form in those regions of the world. Everything was far too evenly divided. American and Canadian lands were as unified as they ever would be. The only one who absolutely believed him, surprisingly enough, was Ivan.

"Did he have a sort of rounded face with a slightly longer light blonde hair?" he inquired, "And a curl that hung down in front of his face?"

"Yeah! That's him!" Alfred insisted, excitedly, "He was real funny looking and I spotted him staring at me while I was up there for business."

"You mean for spying on me, Da?" Ivan smirked.

"Shut up - And don't act like you're above spying, asshole," Alfred countered, "So, anyways, he just kinda stood there for a bit, silently, and then turned and walked away. The guy looked really lonely. Poor thing."

"That sounds like a nation to me, Alfred," Ivan nodded, "And if it is indeed Alaska - as I believe it is - then he most certainly will need someone to direct him on our ways. Being the closest responsible nation to him, it only seems fitting that I take him under my care."

"Woah there, Cowboy!" Alfred objected, "This kid is on my turf, there for he's closer to yours truly."

"You must have misheard me. I said closest responsible nation."

"Oh, I'll show you responsible-"

"Enough," Arthur interjected, drawing the two of them from their squabble enough to realise they were in fact in the midst of a meeting, "Although the likelihood of such a young nation is incredibly unrealistic, I think it would be best for you two to share the responsibility, given the circumstance."

"Share? With him?" Alfred demanded, gesturing towards Ivan in disbelief.

"Yes. Much like France and I when we came across you and your brother," Arthur nodded, "I can assure you we did not particularly enjoy the others company, but we were forced to put such things aside for the sake of the children. I believe that, if this child does in fact exist, you and Russia should take the same stance."

"But I only saw France everyone once in for-never," Alfred argued.

"Yes, he was a bit more attached to the northern portion of the New World," Arthur glared across the way, with the Frenchman meeting his look with one of equal intensity, "But since you both don't have the luxury of twins, you'll have to share."

"Fine," Alfred scoffed, "But I get first rights over him as he is part of my land."

"He was originally Russian," Ivan stated.

"Yeah and then you sold him out," Alfred poked his tongue out, "So, either I get first right or I'm not sharing."

"You seem to have a point," Francis agreed, "However, until we know for certain the child actually exists, there is no use even arguing."

"He does," Alfred and Ivan both assured, simultaneously.

"Then prove it," Francis suggested, "We will deal with the affairs of this young boy when he is with us."

"So you want me to find him and bring him to the meeting?" Alfred clarified, "Fine. Sure thing! I'll have him before we next meet! You can count on it."

"I'm not sure we can," Ivan grumbled.

"I don't see you volunteering, Pal," Alfred snipped.

"You are right," Ivan smiled, "I will go with you."
