       *one year ago*
Faye and I had been best friends for a year now,and we finally graduated from the hell hole that is high school.

"Oh..em...geeee..I can't believe we're done with high school, I thought it would never end!!"Faye squeals in my ear,as we walk away from school for the last time.

"I'm so happy I could dance"I say, jumping around and doing the chicken dance.

Faye suggests we take a shortcut as we are in a hurry to get home..we walk into an alley, talking about anything and everything, giggling like little girls.

Then a huge van comes barreling down the alley, stopping right next to us.

A huge guy comes out and tries to grab me and throw me in the van,but Faye jumps on his back and starts hitting him on the head..he throws her off and points a gun at her head.

"Run"she screams at me,shutting her eyes tightly.I turn around, take off my shoes and start running as fast as I can, when I hear gunshots, and the sound of my best friend screaming, but I keep running, tears streaming down my face.

I run straight to the police station and slam into the front desk, babbling incoherently and crying..they finally understand what I'm trying to say and go to the spot I told them.

My mother rushes in and holds me tight, crying on my shoulder. The police officers come back and tell me that it's not nice to joke about things like that..I scream at them, telling them that my best friend is missing and they don't know how to do their jobs.

They ask me for her name and I tell them..they enter it into their database and tell me that there's nobody by that name.

"What do you mean?..that's her name..Faye Garima..I've known her for a year now,you can't say she doesn't exist"I scream at him.

"You can ask my mom, she's seen her, right mom?"I ask my mom

"Honey, you only told me about her,I never actually saw her"she says, looking at me weirdly.

"Okay then,do you have a photo of her we can use?"the officer asks

"Um well, she hates pictures, I never actually took one with her"I say, looking down at my feet.

Could I really have imagined her??..I don't remember ever seeing her parents, and I was the only person she actually talked to,as everyone else sort of ignored her..could I have imagined the best year of my life?? I sink down to my knees and sob, feeling like my heart has been ripped out of my chest.

I remain in a zombie-like state for the rest of the day,not moving, speaking or eating, just staring at the wall.

This goes on for another month, till I go off to college..my first few months of college are uneventful and boring, then I meet someone.

I'm walking down the street to get to my class, head buried in my notes when I hear a screech and someone pushes me hard and we both fall to the floor..I look at the spot I was standing a moment ago and see a taxi there, with the driver swearing at me and shaking his fists.

"Shut it douchebag, she was only trying to get to class, she wants to get an education, unlike you"the person who saved me says, smirking at the driver..I look at my Savior and see a tall, gorgeous boy with shortish hair and brown eyes filled with mischief. The cab driver turns about 37 shades of red and gets out of the car, making his way towards us.The boy grabs my hand, pulls me up and we start running, dodging people and stalls, ignoring the shouts of sellers as we knock over a few dozen fruits, and he pulls me into a shop and we wait, breathing hard.We slide to the floor and exhale in relief.

A woman with piercings and tattoos all over her body, wearing a short, tight skirt and a shirt that's practically a bra and high, high and I do mean HIGH heels walks over to us with a smile on her face.

"Hey there cuties,I see you're in a hurry to buy something.. Can I interest you in some whips and handcuffs?"she asks

"Uh..what?"we ask at the same time, and then take the time to look around us,seeing different varieties of sex toys, dolls, movies and other kinky stuff.

"Oh" the boy says, looking amused.I,on the other hand, let out a squeak that would make a mouse jealous and run out as fast as I can.

"Well that was pleasant"the boy says, smiling at me.

"Um..who are you?"I ask,eyeing him suspiciously

"I'm Jasper..what about you?"he asks,smiling at me.

"Chocolate"I say

"Uh..that's a..strange name,but I like it"he says,grinning at me.

We spend the rest of the day talking and laughing, still keeping an eye out for the cab driver.I had the same feeling I had with Faye-friends forever..I hoped this would last.

*present day*
Well...it did last, for some time at least, enough time to make me believe he would really stay.Maybe I just wasn't meant to have any friends.
