I gazed at the word 'Detention' which was printed on the door. I smiled to myself and twisted the doorknob. I searched for Mr Biggs, the man who 'hosts' Detention. I couldn't find him anywhere. As I continued to look around, Zach waved at me.
"Zach? What are you doing here?" I asked, suddenly confused.
"I got Detention? Duh?" Zach grinned at me in a creepy way. I sat next to him and questioned him.
"Where's Mr Biggs?"
"Oh, he's ill. Apparently, a substitute is supposed to cover for him, but they haven't turned up." Zach explained to me as he rested his feet on the desk.
"Wait, how did you get Detention?" I raised my eyebrow at Zach. Zach sat up and smirked.
"I had Math, and I wooed Miss Littlewood." Zach placed his arms behind his head. I questioned him, once again.
"Wooed? What did you do?"
"...I told her to subtract her clothes so my ruler could destroy her equation." I bursted out laughing while Zach joined in. I suddenly stopped.
"Did it work?" I asked Zach, waiting for an answer.
"Nope, she found it disturbing." Zach dropped his head while I continued to laugh.
"Anways, how are you here?" Zach said as he glared at me.
"I called Mrs Wentworth a grungy horse." I grinned at Zach while he smirked.
"Wow, that's an amazing insult." Zach nodded his head. I rolled my eyes and began to play around with my phone.
A few minutes later, Zach and I were focused on our phones, and the substitute still didn't show up. Hallelujah. Zach broke the silence between us.
"Look! Samantha Moore is having a party this Saturday!" Zach showed me the details on his phone. I sighed.
Samantha Moore, I hate her. She was known as one of the uptight, ignorant and attention-seeking trolls in our school, but I like to party, so I might as well go.
"Look, everybody's welcome!" Zach screeched at me. He seemed more excited than me. I grabbed his phone to check.
"Zach! This party was last week! You idiot!" I rolled my eyes and threw Zach's phone at him. I rested my head on the desk. At that moment, a brilliant idea came into my head.]
"I know! I'll throw a party!" I jumped up and screamed at Zach.
"Really? Where?" Zach asked, confused.
"At my house, keep up." I gently slapped his cheeks. He pushed my arms away and stood up.
"You can't have a house party with your Dad and your brother there." Zach replied and folded his arms. I joined him and stood up.
"My Dad and Olly are going to watch some Soccer Tournament Friday night. That means I'll have the house to myself, and everybody else!" I jumped with excitement.
"So, it's official? You're having a house party on Friday?" Zach questioned me, once again.
"It's official. We're gonna party like there's no tomorrow." I said to Zach. I high-fived Zach as we both sat back down.
"So, who you gonna invite?" Zach raised his eyebrows, waiting for a reply.
"Everyone. The people I love, the people I hate, the people I don't even know." I listed to Zach.
"Awesome, I'll share it on Facebook and Twitter, that'll get everyone's attention." Zach concerntrated on his phone while I gazed out window.
"Where's the substitute?" I finally realised that Zach and I were unsupervised in Detention.
"I guess they're not coming. That means we got the whole place to ourselves." Zach's eyes were glued to his phone. I twiddled my thumbs for a while until Zach frightened me.
"Ten people have liked and retweeted our status, they're coming to the party!" Zach and I high-fived eachother for the second time. I pounded my fist in the air.
"Let's get this party planned!" I screamed to the top of my lungs while Zach clicked his fingers.
At that moment, Mr Vaughan, the Gym Teacher, walked in.
"What are you doing here Mr Vaughan?" Zach shouted in a curious tone.
"I'm supervising you. The substitute hasn't showed up, so I've volunteered to look after you kids." Mr Vaughan explained to us as he slumped over the front desk.
"Go easy on us will you? We're planning a party." I said to Mr Vaughan. Mr Vaughan looked up at Zach and I.
"Do whatever you wanna do. I just want some sleep, okay?" Mr Vaughan rested his head on the desk. Zach and I looked at eachother and got comfy, ready to plan the best party of the century.
