"My idea of Christmas whether old fashioned or modern is simple: loving others "- Bob Hope

"Have a good rest of your week and have a Merry Christmas" said Allison's secretary Megan. "Thank you Megan" Allison replied through gritted teeth. "I really despise this holiday season, everyone is always so cheery" thought Allison.

Allison Harper has hated Christmas since she was 10 years old because of a certain incident that happened. Allison hates to rethink of that day. As of right now Allison was walking through Times Square, New York City heading home from an exhausting long day at work. Every direction that she turned she saw Christmas decorations.

"Does everyone seriously love this holiday" Allison said aloud to no one in particular. Just as she said that a Santa Clause jingled his usual "Ho, Ho, Ho". "Ugh, this whole city is infested with Christmas joy". Eventually Allison made it to her apartment without having a mental breakdown.

"There you are" her best friend Grace exclaimed. "You took forever to get home. I actually thought a Santa picked you up or something." "Grace really, first of all a guy would pick you up before me in a heartbeat, and second you know I hate Christmas so a Santa would definitely not pick me up." "Allison you are beautiful I don't know what you're talking about. If you stop being such a Grinch a guy would pick you up in a heartbeat" Grace argued back. Allison has beautiful blonde hair, with stunning brown eyes that sparkle when she is extremely happy. She is twenty six and works at a publishing firm in the busiest city in New York. Grace on the other hand has long, wavy brown hair with blonde highlights. She is twenty five and works as a waitress. She is everything that a guy would want. She breaks the rules and has fun, meanwhile Allison has to follow the rules or she feels like she is leting herself and her parents down.

"Anyway, Grace what do you want for dinner? I was thinking about take out and then me and you can have a girls night since I'm off tomorrow" asked Allison "Umm Alli as much as that sounds amazing I have to work tonight...." Grace started to say but got distracted by the time. "Crap it's 7:30, I got to be at work in five minutes. I promise Alli we will do a girls night another night. Bye" Grace said rushing out the door. "Of course she has to work. Another lonely night by myself" sighed Allison. As Allison ordered her favorite take out food she put on a re-run of The Walking Dead and begun to think of her past. How her parents were about to split up because of the accident that happend the Christmas that she was ten. Everything that year came crumbling down piece by piece.

Just then Allisons's phone rang. "Ugh, who is calling at this time of day", grumbled Allison. "Hello" she mumbled into the phone. "Hello Allison, it's me Megan. I'm sorry for calling you at this time of day but it's kind of an emergency. You see the Maggie Lindemann files kind of, sort of got misplaced and or deleted." "How in the world did they get deleted? That is our most important client. If we lose her we can lose this entire publication firm" interrupted Allison. "That's the thing, I'm not really sure how. I know that tomorrow is Christmas Eve and you have the day off, but this is really important. Can you come in tomorrow and help find them?" asked Megan. "Sure, I have nothing better tomorrow anyway." "Your the best Allison. Thank you so much. I have to go bye." Before Allison got another word in Megan hung up. "Great, just great" thought Allison. She looked at the clock and decided to get for bed for she has a long day ahead of her tomorrow.

"Beep, Beep, Beep" went Allison's annoying alarm clock. "I hate getting up before the sun does for work" exclaimed a grumpy Allison. It was 5:00 am on Christmas Eve and Allison had to get ready for work. She really didn't want to leave the house today because everyone and anyone is going to be in a jolly Christmas mood. Allison showered and got changed, she was just about to grab something to eat when she looked at the time. "Crap it's already 6:30 I got to head to work. As she grabbed her coat she rushed out of the house slamming the door behind her. As the minutes were passing Allison was running late to work. "No one knows how to walk fast on the sidewalk when some people have to get to work. Oh right I'm the only stupid person out in NYC heading to work on Christmas Eve" angrily thought Allison. Just as she was reaching the block to her job she slipped and fell on a patch of ice. "Woah, are you okay there? Do you need any help getting up." Allison looked up to see who was talking to her and her eyes met two of the most gorgeous blue eyes ever.
