Chapter 7:

"Now take a right on Lakeview Dr ." Nash points

Once I turn in his direction, all I could think is.."So this is what heaven looks like."

The road was covered in autumn leafs. Sugar maple trees branches hover every inch of the sky. The perfect neighborhood,  white picket fences, grass was green as could be, and clean cut. Each house had enormous driveways with a Mercedes Benz, Corvette, Audi, or Lamborghini parked shiny, and sparkling. Hundreds of yards for landscape in all of the houses. The houses were mansions, but every mansion was different. Modern, victorian or, traditional styled. A soft wind, breezed though my car. As neighbors pass by they smile or give a small hand gesture to greet me.

In the corner of my eye, a faint smile came across Nash's face. "Like what you see?"

"Are you sure this is the right neighborhood?"

"I'll take that as a yes." he laughs

"What do your parents do for a living?"

"They're both entrepreneurs, so I'm pretty fortunate."

"I wouldn't say fortunate, more of the lines of blessed! God your life is so perfect."

I must have caught him off guard, because of his hesitant laugh. Unfortunately a sound of misery lingered in the tone of his voice. Wonder fills my mind. Thinking of the reasons why he sounded so heartbroken. Just by one chuckle I know he was hurting inside. The same tone I had when my parents died. There was the sharpest pain in my heart. Like someone stabbed me over and over again. Luckily my heart wound healed over time. But to this day a small, but sharp sting roams in my chest.

"Are you ok?" I question with clear concern.

"Umm... Yeah I'm fine.." he clears his throat "My house is directly straight."

His landscape was rather odd. Large hedges lined both sides of the street. But the road was pale and rocky. We come upon a tall gate, with code lock. Nash gets out of the car and cover the lock with his hand so I couldn't see.

I roll my eyes "Really?"

"Yes! I don't want you breaking into my house!" he says with sarcasm. He punches a 4-digit code and the gate slowly opens. He rushes back to the car.

Pulling into his driveway made me feel... well homeless. Nash's house was combination between a castle and a mansion. Tile driveway, two fountains on both sides of the walkway, beautiful rose garden. Walk up the steps was like walking toward to gates of heaven. In awe I open the humongous front door. My jaw drops, Crystal chandelier, Marble columns, Two stair ways that connect in the middle. It surprised me how beautiful his house was and I just witnessed only the entrance room.

"Nash dear is that you?!" I hear an angel like voice. Her voice was smooth as silk. Distance footstep in high heels come toward us. The woman came from upstairs. One look and I knew that she was Nash's mother. Same eye color, skin color, shape of face, same lips as well. But her hair color was more of a coco brown with random blond highlights. Love her sense in fashion, Collar jacket, pencils skirt, pointed-toe shoes, and medium size diamond necklace. She still looked young maybe, mid or late forties. Her straight hair was stretching to her waist and, parted right down the middle. Only down side was her make up (too much eye liner).

"Yeah mom, its me." Nash responds

"I was just about to call your cell.." she turns and smiles "I didn't know we would be having a guest over!" she exclaims politely.

"Mom this Sam Wright, Sam this is my mother." I give a firm handshake.

"It's very nice to meet you Mrs. Sullivan!"
