Sereana
The water is warm and comfortable. The faded moonlight from the distant ocean surface peeked through the water and made the entire city of Atlantis glow a light blue. I smiled as I watched my people roam throughout the place, taking a seat on a cliff that overlooked the city. I jumped slightly as I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was my closest friend, Marsala.
" Calm down, I hope you're not this jumpy when we go to hunt or you're screwed. " She giggled. " Come on, you're the strongest out of all of us, we can't have you falling short. " She continued.
" Ha Ha, " I mocked. " You just caught me when my guard was down, excuse me for appreciating the beauty of my kingdom.
" And Its people. " She said as she struck a pose. We laughed. " Come on, we need to go or they'll leave without us. "
We left the rock and joined 6 other sirens at the outskirts of town. We swam out until Atlantis was only a distant turquoise glow. Marsala and I stayed in the middle of the group, we had only been on a few hunts but we definitely knew what we were doing. My voice and looks were above all, I was the most powerful siren afterall. I prepared myself as a small row boat sailed above us.
One of the girls aprroached them first, humming an entrancing tune. She had one of the men hooked and we all slowly swam to the surface. My attention was immediately caught by a younger man. His hair was a dark black and his eyes a shimmering green. I stared at him, he was scared but did a good job at hiding it. He looked to be taller and slightly more built than the rest of the men. His emerald eyes caught the gaze of my icy blue ones.
He stared at me skeptically and I did the same to him. I watched as Marsala swam to the man sitting next to him. I slowly grew closer when he spoke to me.
" Can you speak... speak English? " He asked. I simply nodded. I could speak English, the only problem was that I had an obvious accent. The rest of the girls could hide theirs. I swam to the side of the boat, folding my arms across each other and placing then on the edge. I look up at him, it is obvious we didn't trust eachother, regardless we both make an effort.
" Why are you with these men? You seem much younger than them. "
I asked, in all honesty I didn't really care. His age was merely an observation, as far as I'm concerned he is prey. Humans have valuable magic in them. They're ability to have such strong emotions, they're craftsmanship and wit. We saw them as a threat, and harvested what was left of them. He knows that, I can tell he knows what we're here to do.
" I'm here to help them, I have a ship and I found these men stranded, I'm taking then to my boat. "
I hummed softly as he answered, wether he knows it or not I'm calming him down, slowly making him lose focus.
" A pirate, with your own ship? You must have seen some amazing and beautiful places. " I said. I'm being honest though, I've always wanted to venture out past Atlantis, the only problem is that all waters are human infested these days.
" I've been all over. I'd have to say the Carribean waters are the most beautiful though, theyre waters match your eyes. " He stroked his thumb across my cheek, my humming is working. I saw something in his eyes. As if the unentranced him was trying to fight his way out to sanity. One of the girls drug a man under the water, and this sparked everyone else to do the same.
I grabbed his neck, his eyes still looking into mine, and slowly pulled to the water's surface. Instead of allowing me to pull him under, he broke from the trance and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into the boat. I was fighting the best that I could, but he was mich stronger than me. His fellow pirates were beating my women with oars and knives, they fled and abandoned me.
After a while things got quiet. My tail had split into legs and my anger grew as they all were staring at me, like an object, like a prize. Suddenly the young man pulled out a contraption, and I sparked and let out a loud noise as he pointed it at the surviving men. They all dropped dead in an instant, blood pooling out of them.
I looked at the man, a slight amount of fear in my eyes. He grabs my arm, forcing me to stand in the small boat, I realize now that I only go to his chest in height. He points to a foggy structure in the near distance.
" That, is my ship. " He said.
