I got home right before dinner and headed straight to my room avoiding everyone and got ready to take a much-needed shower.
"Scrub .. scrub ... Rinse ... rinse ... better wash your body ... Better wash your body" I sang making up the song as I go.
Don't judge me
I got dressed in leggings, a comfortable knit sweater, and a pair of fuzzy socks. I tied my hair in a high bun and headed downstairs. I walked into the kitchen when I saw an unfamiliar figure talking to my father and Sam.
"Hey guys," I said giving a small smile and wave.
"Hey sweetie this is Natalie she is a therapist," Sam said.
"Hey Natalie," I said offering her a smile.
"Nice to meet you, Isa," Natalie said giving me a wave.
"So what's for dinner I'm starving," I exclaimed walking towards the kitchen where a delicious smell of food was coming from.
"Isa" my dad started saying "I want you to have a therapist not that you need help or anything but you been through so much in your life I want you to have a life to go out and have fun and Natalie can help you with this, I just want you to live the life you didn't have I know you can't forget about it but it won't hurt to try." He said.
I thought about what he said and it's true I want to live life how it's supposed to be.
"O-oh okay but you can't force me to go or do anything I don't want to do if I don't feel comfortable," I told her.
"Yes, we all promise that we will not force you to do anything your not comfortable to do." Natalie and Sam nodded in agreement. My birth mother popped into my head what happened to her.
"Hey, dad." Oh my gosh, I called him dad again I can tell he was still surprised as well but something in his eyes shined like he was the happiest man on earth.
"Yes?" he squeaked out.
"What happened to Julie?" I asked.
"When she hit you we called the cops she got locked up she was supposed to get out but the police also found her with drugs in her car she was also intoxicated. She is facing some charges." My dad said.
"Okay thank you." I left and went to set up the table for us to have dinner.
During dinner, we all talked about my therapy class schedule and other topics. They wanted me to go to school too and I'll start very soon.
This might be it, I may have the life I wanted my whole life, and I will try to make the best of it.
