To believe what I'm about to tell you, you need to believe in the impossible. Can you do that?

Good.

You see those red blurs? Well, those red blurs are my twin brother Parker and our best friend Barry.

Do you see that green blur over there on that roof? That's me.

My name is Poppy Russo and I'm the most, let's say, magical person alive.

Now before you hear our story story, you'll need a bit of background information.

"Excuse me! Sorry!" A young Poppy said as she pushed through the crowd of people. Chasing her were a couple of bullies trying to get to her.

She made it to the Boston Police Department and immediately ran in and went behind two of the officers trying to hide.

The two men chuckled, but stayed where they were nonetheless. The bullies burst through the double doors but left when they saw the room full of officers.

One of the officers didn't bother to turn when he said "They're gone now Poppy". The young brunette smiled and said a quick thank you before going to her father's office.

She entered the office to see her mother and father talking in hushed voices. There was concern and worry written on their faces, but when they saw their daughter it instantly turned into a smile.

"Hi sweetie, how was school today?" Her mother asked. The young girl shrugged. "It was okay. I ran all the way here without stopping though".

Her father narrowed his eyes at her. "You were being chased were you?" He asked. She nodded and her parents exchanged a look.

"Why were they after you?" Her mother asked. Poppy looked at the ground not wanting to meet her mother's eyes. "I hit one of them" she said quietly.

Her parents exchanged a look but before they could talk, Poppy beat them to it.

"They were picking on a kid just because he wore glasses. You taught me to do something when I see that something's wrong. I was just trying to be like you guys" she said looking at the floor.

Her parents kneeled down in front of her and smiled softly. "I know that you want to help people, but please stop getting into fights. Ok Poppy?" Her mother said. Poppy nodded her head before speaking.

"Are Parker and I still going to sleepover at Peter's house?" She asked wanting to see her best friend. Her parents exchanged a look before they nodded.

"We'd better go so that we can pick up Parker from his science club and drop you guys off at Peter's" her father said.

Poppy nodded and grabbed her bag and her mom's hand as they walked out of the station to pick up her brother.

Little did I know, that was the last day my brother and I saw our parents before they mysteriously disappeared.

Parker was holding Poppy's hand as they walked up to their foster parent's front door, a social worker trailing behind them.

The door opened to reveal a middle aged man and woman, happy to see them. The woman kneeled down and said "My name is Jane and this is my husband Evan. I know that we aren't your parents but we hope that one day we can be."

Poppy and Parker exchanged glances and nodded at her.

We lived there for a year before they died in a fire that destroyed the whole house.

Parker and Poppy were at the group home waiting for the people that were supposed to come and foster them for a while.

In walked a woman in her mid thirties with a man who looked in his early forties and a boy who looked to be 13 or 14 years old.

The woman and man stopped in front of their social worker while the boy walked over to them.

"Hi, I'm Luke. What's your name?" he asked the both of them. The twins didn't answer, instead keeping their eyes down. They knew from experience not to mess with the older kids.

"I'm not going to hurt you or anything like that. I don't want to be mean to my new siblings. " Luke said. At this, the twins looked up confused.

"Siblings?" Parker questioned. Luke nodded his head. "Ma and Pop said that they're going to adopt you guys" he said.

Poppy and Parker exchanged glances and were about to speak when their social worker came over with the man and woman.

"Poppy. Parker. This is Angela and Frank. They are have offered to not only foster you, but to adopt you instead. Your things are already in their house, so you guys can just say goodbye to everyone and go to your new home" she said.

The twins looked at their adoptive parents to their new sibling and to their social worker.

They nodded and grabbed their backpack and were led out to a car. "You both are going to love your rooms. I painted the walls, but I wasn't sure what colors you guys like so I painted Poppy's green and Parker's red " Angela told them as they drove away from the group home.

The twins couldn't help but feel relief knowing that they were out of there, but they also couldn't help but feel dread at what was to come.

Fast forward a couple of years and here we are. Parker is a forensic scientist at the Central City Police Department while I am a journalist at Central City Picture News.

And we wouldn't change want to change anything for the world.
