"Mione?"

Hermione made a noncommittal noise in response, and looked at her boyfriend over the top of her Ancient Runes book. The two of them, along with Harry, were sat around a table in the common room where Hermione insisted upon studying for their NEWTs, much to Ron and Harry's dismay. Harry had just gotten up to go to the restroom, resulting in Ron speaking up as soon as he was out of ear shot.

"It's about Harry. You don't think he, y'know... is started to get feelings for Malfoy, do you?"

"You know that's none of our business Ron."

"That doesn't mean that we can't think about it, does it?  We're his best friends, Hermione, don't you think we deserve to know?"

Hermione sighed and set down her book. "If he is, I wouldn't really be surprised."  At Ron's surprised expression, she continued, "Being so intimate with someone over a continued period of time is only bound to result in some sort of emotional connection, even if not specifically romantic. From everything that I've read, the primary reason Sex Magic is such a powerful branch of magic, though dark, is due to that intense emotional connection. So yes, I do believe that Harry has feelings for Malfoy. After all, from what I've heard from Lavender, they seem to have the strongest bond in the class. Whether his feelings for Malfoy are romantic or not, though, I'm not really sure."

"You could have just said you don't know," Ron stated under his breath, causing Hermione to roll her eyes and re-open her book. Just then, Harry returned to the table and sat back down without a word.

It wasn't that Ron had a problem with his male best friend liking another guy, it was just that... Okay, that was pretty much his problem. He just couldn't get used to the idea of Harry having to kiss or touch or even have sex with, nonetheless being topped by, none other than that ass hat bitch baby Malfoy.

He remembered Harry telling him that homosexual sex shouldn't be put into heterosexual sex terms; in his case, there is no 'woman' and he knew that. But knowing it and being able to wrap your mind around and become comfortable with it are two very different things.

On Monday, Professor Mason found herself looking over her class as she waited for everyone to arrive. She looked at every pair and couldn't help but feel proud of the progress they had all made. Just like every year there were one or two couples that needed a bit of extra help, but that was simply to be expected.

Most of the pairs were holding hands and in the midst of expressive conversation or merely silently sitting close to one another, enjoying their partner's company.

Then there were Harry and Draco.

They were sitting as far apart as they could without being chided for it, not even looking at each other. Though the two of them made the best progress in the class and had astounding chemistry together, there were days when they acted like the other was merely a fly on the wall to be ignored. The energy created around their booth was something that most Sex Magic professors could only hope to see. They would have so much more potential if only they allowed themselves to express how they felt instead of suppressing it. She still held out hope for that day.

Having counted heads to make sure that all her students were there, Professor Mason began.

"As I have previously explained, this class is divided into two semesters; the first being for classroom work, and the second for independent study. What that entails is the following: every Monday, you will all be given an assignment that you have until the following Monday to complete. Some of these assignments you have, to a degree, already touched upon. However, the case may be that others require research to be done or steps to be followed. This will be explained again once the time comes but for now let us talk about what we will be doing today.
