Soda's day at work

*Pony's POV*
I was in Soda and I's room doing school work at my desk when I heard Soda's voice getting closer to the room. Soda walked in and I turned and looked at him as he was taking his work pants off to get in some more comfortable clothing.

Pony: How was work?

Soda: Do you even wanna know?

Pony: Yeah of course.

Soda: Can your virgin ears handle it?

Pony: I guess?

Soda: (Sighs) Work was fine until Evie came by. Her and Steve got busy in the bathroom and I had to serve customers by myself for 45 minutes.

Pony: (Wide eyed) I'm so sorry.

Soda: I appreciate it. It was a long day.

Soda laid down on the bed and looked at me as I was doing my math homework.

Soda: How was school?

Pony: It was school.

Soda was easy to talk to.

Pony: Can I ask you something?

Soda: Sure.

Pony: Is it bad that I haven't hit puberty?

Soda: (Smirks) Don't listen to Steve Pony. He doesn't know your body he's never seen it and you have hit it just not fully.

Pony: Why is he mean to me?

Soda: (Sits up) He just likes to give you a hard time. He won't do it to Johnny because he suffers enough at home, teasing Two-bit won't do anything except make his ego bigger, he hardly associates with Dal and he knows better than to tease Darry so....

Pony: Yeah (does another math problem)

Soda: But listen to me and don't tell Steve I told you this, but he loves you kid.

Pony: (Laughs) You're funny.

Soda: I'm serous bro. Steve cares about you......he just has to tease you in the process of caring about you.

Pony: It almost seems as if he and I were alone he would try to kill me.

Soda: Nah...he wouldn't let anyone hurt you Pony. I wouldn't lie to you about something like this...

Pony: I can't believe that.

Soda: He doesn't have any other siblings so he has to pick on someone and face it Pony you're the youngest and the easiest to tease.

Pony: Yeah. So other than Steve and Evie work was good?

Soda: Yeah. Whatcha working on over there Albert Einstein?

Pony: Just some algebra.

Soda: That word makes me cringe.

Pony: Is Darry here?

Soda: He just pulled in.

Soda walked out to go talk to Darry and I sat there doing my algebra. Soda has to be tripping there's no way in hell Steve cares about me. After I finished my algebra I went into the living room and Soda looked at Darry.

Soda: Darry tell Pony Steve cares about him.

Darry: Soda told me you're worried about Steve teasing ya?

Pony: I'm not worried about it I just want to know why he enjoys seeing me irritated.

Darry: Pony we are all in this group together and as much as you don't want to accept it Steve cares about you. We all care about you.

I helped Darry make dinner and after dinner I sat on the couch and started to catch up on a book I had started reading. Darry was watching the 8 o'clock news and Soda was showering.

Around 9pm I went to bed.
