Remember

The other day I was hanging with a friend named mike
He had a really good friend hang himself the other night
So I gave him a hug, and I told him it would be alright
That his friend can't hurt no more, he's going toward the light
Well we went to his friend's funeral and we,
Heard these people talking on the microphone
Talking about how he was such a great person,
And how their hearts broke like styrofoam
But what I didn't get was why these people go up and talk
Not cause of why they were up there, but what they had to say
Why talk about a man that you knew and praise him,
He ain't a god, he wasn't immortal, this man past away
What I'm trying to get at may sound harsh, and no disrespect,
But when you die, I'm gonna remember every time you were upset
I'll remember for how you acted,
How you handled shit and reacted,
How you were such an asshole at times
But you gave quarters when asked for dimes
How you gave everything a hundred percent
And how you asked me constantly for rent
Money you couldn't pay off, and the debts you owe
I'll remember that too, but you should really know
That your birthday wasn't in December, you hated that shit
And that you appreciated everyone's gifts that you get
I'll remember your voice and I'll remember how you
Always wanted to hang and do some dumb shit together
Those type of nights we outlived, I'll always remember
Just to close this off and get everything said and done,
I'll remember all the bad thing, but damn do I miss every single one
