Another summer went by, another summer filled with yelling, cursing, fighting, and it all went down into divorce. I thought I would be relieved when it was all over but if anything I felt worse. But I had to forget that, it was the beginning of the school year and I was on my way to platform 9 and 3/4. I couldn't wait to get away and see Hermione, Harry, and Ron again. They understood me, they always made me forget what was going on at home, even if that always turned into chaos, but we had each other and always got through it. The Dark Lord was back and worse than ever, I heard that students weren't coming back this year because of it. My parents couldn't stop fighting long enough to read the Hogwarts yearly start of the year news letters to notice, even of they did live in the muggle world, I wish they would at least try to care.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard someone call my name and turned to see Hermione rushing towards me, immediately a smile was on my face and I was soon rushing towards her with Ron and Harry behind her.
"Hermione! Ron! Harry! I missed you all so much!" I exclaimed, that was an understatement but I shook it off.
"How was your summer?" Hermione asked, acting interested even though I knew by the look on all three of their faces they wanted to tell me something.
"Great!" I lied hoping my smile was convincing. "How was yours?"

"Wait! Harry almost got expelled?!" I asked with a gasp, they just explained everything that went on, Harry getting attacked by dementors and had to use magic to fight them off him and his cousin, despite that he almost got expelled, and above all that their seemed to a new group coming together against Who-Know-Who called the Order Of The Phoenix. "That's crazy, this is what happens when I decline a summer with you guys to go home, I miss everything!"
"Speaking of that, I heard about your parents." Ron said making me shift in my seat, I almost forgot about that.
"It's fine... I'm just glad they can finally be away from each other and stop screaming like lunatics." I replied with a small smile that I was certain didn't reach my eyes. No one really said anything after that, Harry placed a comforting hand on my shoulder which I returned with a thankful smile. This year is going to be better, I thought... But deep down, I had it feeling it wasn't.

Great, another Defense Against The Dark Arts Teacher that was a complete nut case. Why was it always the Defense Against The Dark Arts Teacher that was like this?
The whole feast she just stared at us with this creepy smile on her face. It made all of us uncomfortable and Harry mentioned how she was at his trial. Hogwarts was being raided by the Ministry of Magic now... This will be fun.
All of us practically sprinted out of the great hall after the professors dismissed us to go to our dormitories. As if the night couldn't of gotten worse, on my way out I bumped into Malfoy followed by a remark that sounded along the lines of "get out of my way mudblood", he really did know how to get the ladies to swoon over him didn't he?
As Hermione, Ginny, and I unpacked fully and got ready for bed, I swore that tomorrow would be a better day...
***
That was partly true, the day went by decently good, I have Hermione for 3 of my classes, and Ron and Harry for 2... But then I was left alone in Potions, that's where the day took a turn in the wrong direction.
I waited on the sides of the classroom already annoyed since it seemed that I was the only Gryffindor in this class and everyone else was mostly Slytherin with the exception of a few Hufflepuffs.
