And I say "What the heck is wrong with you?

You think that nobody understands you?

That nobody cares about you?

That nobody cares about what you do?

That nobody loves you?

Well, you know what?

I love you

You are loved

You are not wasted space on this Earth

You're a gift from above

A miracle from the Maker

A creation of God's

There is a light deep inside you that can help light this dark world

You might not see it quite yet

But that is no excuse for you to fall down a path of least resistance,

Apologizing for your existence."

I wrote this poem a while back. In my Freshmen Honors English class we watched a lot of people reading their original slam poems and I was inspired to write a slam poem of my own.

I had written just this portion and had intended on it being the ending of it. I was going to give up on this poem because I didn't know how to begin it. However, I showed this to my friend and she loved it so much that she took a picture of it and posted it on her Facebook.

People really seemed to love it, so I thought that I'd post it right here.

The poem is basically about me telling someone who feels unwanted or unloved that they are loved and are precious.

This poem is not directed towards anyone in particular, it's directed towards anyone who feels hopeless. This poem is also meant to be a reminder to me that no matter what, I am loved and you are too.

Hopefully this poem restored your hope and faith and made you feel a bit happier knowing that you are loved by the Heavenly Father.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this poem. It really means a lot to me.

God bless you all & have a wonderful rest of your day :)
