One Shot for Spark665

Deanna's P.O.V.

"I bet I will get there before you!!" I yelled to my best friend of 7 years now, Bear Brown.

"I bet you won't because you're slow!!" He yelled back as we raced to the biggest and our most favorite tree in the whole forest.

"You're the slow one you big teddy bear!" I yelled back, very out of breath.

But of course, Bear got there before I did.

"Ha! I told you!! I told you that I would get here first. You're such a slow poke! AND I AM EXTREME!!" He said yelling the last part to earn more dramatization. I laughed as he he did this while flexing his muscles. He is always such a goofball.

"Well lets not just stand here. Come on!" I said as I finished laughing and grabbed a branch. Climbing with Bear is always fun. He always keeps me entertained not to mention how easily he does it. It is sort of mesmerizing.

We both got up as far as we could, being the tree was slippery from the nights rain, and just sat there for a bit listening to the forest and all of its sounds.

"Do you ever think about the future, like who you're husband is going to be, or how many kids you're going to have?" He asked as he looked out over everything.

"All the time." I said as I started to climb down. I don't like having talks with Bear about the future. It isn't because I don't care, because that isn't true at all. But it's because he doesn't see me in his future as anything but a friend, and that kills me inside.

I started getting feelings for Bear maybe after 2 months after we met. At first I thought it was just because he was a new guy and the things he did interested me and were the same as I did. But then I realized that it was way more than that. We were more similar than what I had thought. It was the feeling of falling in love with my best friend. My best friend who didn't see all the things I would do for him and notice the gestures I would make. But, after about two years or so, I have gotten used to it. It is something I just expect now.

"Hey, where are you going?" He asked not moving an inch but to look down at me climbing.

"I'm going back to the house. I promised your mom I would help her and the girls make dinner!" I said as I plopped down from the tree. I stood there and waited for Bear to come down because as soon as I said dinner, he knew that that meant he could start the fire.

"I'll race ya back to the house!!" Bear said as he looked at me sideways.

"You're on pretty boy." I said as I started running ahead of him. Once he realized I was cheating he hurried to run faster than I was, which wasn't hard to do. I wasn't very good at running but it was a whole lot of fun.

On our way back to the house, Bear almost bumped into Bam which made him very angry. Which caused him to call us lovebirds, which caused Bear ro get uncomfortable, which caused me to want to crawl into a whole and die.

"Bear, why don't you go start the fire, I have to talk to Bam for a second." I said with a smile. Bear gave me a suspicious look but soon agreed and ran toward the main house where the fire pit was.

"Do you have to do that?" I asked as Bear got out of view.

"Do what? I don't know what you're talking about." He said as he looked away from me and smirked.

"Oh please, you know plenty about what I'm talking about. You're full of it." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Well it isn't my fault. Everyone knows you like him. It is obvious to everyone but him." He said as he faced me instead of looking away.

"Yeah, I know. It would just be so much easier if he knew instead of me having to act like I don't like him." I said as I faced him and frowned.

"Do you want me to talk to him?" He asked as he touched my arm.

"Absolutely not!" I said as I threw my hands in the air and started walking away towards the house.

"It was nice talking to you!" He yelled after me.

"Yeah, you too!" I yelled as I threw I thumbs up in the air.

I walked towards the cabin and passed Bear on my way into the door. I took one last look at him before I disappeared into the house. I shut the door and leaned all my weight against it, looking gloom.

"What's the matter dear?" Ami asked as her and BIlly looked at me with concern.

"Nothing, nothing I'm fine." I said as I brushed my bangs back into place  and tried to put a convincing smile on my face.

"Is this about your feelings for Bear?" Ami asked as her and Billy walked towards me.

"Ugh, you guys know about it too?" I said as I threw myself down on the nearest kitchen chair.

"Everyone but Bear pretty much had a good idea about it." Billy said with a small chuckle.

"I know. I just wish it were more obvious to him. It would be so much easier on my part if he did." I said as I sighed a little bit.

"You need to tell him dear, you need to look at him and tell him because sometimes Bear doesn't always pick up on subtle girl flirting. That's one thing I wish we could've done differently. Raise our boys up to know how girls flirt." Billy said, which made all of us laugh.

"Well what do I do? Just go up to him and say, "Bear, I'm in love with you?"" I asked as I slumped in the chair.

All of a sudden I hear the door open and Bears voice.

"Well it would've gotten us together faster now wouldn't it?" He said with a huge smile on his face.

"Oh my God Bear! You heard us??" I asked getting up frantically.

"You love me?" He whispered as he got close to me.

"Well, yeah. You're everything I have ever wanted." I whispered back.

"I love you too." He said as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in for a kiss.

His first kiss.

My first kiss.

Our first kiss.

Our Last First Kiss.
