Chapter Five
IT HAPPENED THE way I wanted it to. And even better. It turns out that my mom, got together with some of my friends every year, to grieve - I don't know. All I know is that it's proof they are weirdos, but I also think its sweet- over my disappearance, although they kind of stopped three or four years ago... My mother asks them to come one more time. And most of them agreed. But my mom also said she was bringing one of my cousins along too.
Oh, and Jessi said that they (my grandparents) were in England, and my parents have been going on and on about how guilty they felt for using their home without them there.
Before we left I put on the new clothes we had gone out and bought, and a pair of sunglasses. And we piled into the front of our car.
Walking in to the pizza place, I saw my old crush standing here. He was sooo cute now. But with the way his arm was slung over another girls shoulder, I knew my chance was gone. But after six years, my heart didn't really like him any more.
So... Whatever?
I walked over to the tables we had claimed. Soon, my old friend Kaelin sat down next to my mom. Then Rae and Laura showed up with... Oh we're those the twins?! Travis and Tyler had been their crushes since... Sixth grade. Oh good for them! The four of them sat next to Kaelin. And then Lauri and Taya showed up with Kenzie and MC and Acia. How many people were coming?
And the Ana showed up, followed by Marian Ella, and Hannah. I had missed them so much. They all filed around the table.
I looked straight at Kaelin. "Hi," I said. And then I pulled off the glasses. She gasped.
"E-Erica?" Her voice was like a moth, so I bet only my mom and I noticed it. I nodded.
She gasped. Then screamed. I jumped, along with everyone else.
Rae and Laura looked over. "What's wrong Kaelin?"
"Erica." She whispered.
"Huh?" They said. Twin moment.
She raised a finger to me.
"Hi." I said. Rae and Laura's eyes widened.
"How?" Laura whispered.
"Wait- Erica who was lost at sea?!" Travis asked.
Oh good, I thought to my self. His voice has lowered. The first time I met him he had this ridiculously high voice.
"The one and only."
