CHAPTER THREE
MAYLIE'S POV
"So... you mean to tell us that the Greek gods are real?" I whisper in disbelief.
The man, Chiron, nodded and replied, "and you are demigods."
"Half gods," Caroline said.
Chiron nodded.
"And you, my dear," he said to Caroline "are the daughter of Athena."
Well. That explained why Caroline always suddenly new something random, Athena was the goddess of wisdom.
But who was my parent? I didn't really know the Greek gods that much, except for that there's a lot of them. Then, a wave of realization struck me.
One of my parents at home wasn't my real parent.
"I know it's a lot to take in, but-" Chiron stopped and stared at me and a boy sitting next to me named Jack. Everyone turned. I looked at Jack to see a golden lyre floating above his head. Chiron looked surprised, as did Diet Pepsi guy Mr. D.
"Hail Jack and Maylie, children of Apollo."
I looked at Jack and gulped.
RALPH'S POV
So my friends and I were suddenly half gods, and nobody was really freaking out except me.
Who was Athena? Who was Apollo? Who was MY parent?
Yup, and everybody was just chillin', like hey! I'm a child of a FREAKING god too! And what? We just got chased be monsters who had a death wish for us? Woah, that's totally normal.
"Caroline, Maylie, and Jack, we will send someone for you to move into your cabins. They are separated by your godly parent." Chiron said.
"But, my sister-" Caroline started.
"Yes, that is weird that she hasn't been claimed to be Athena yet; but rules are rules and we'll have to wait."
Caroline looked at me shyly before exiting with a boy named Malcom.
She was really pretty. Wow, I would've guessed her mom was Aphrodite, because-
Wait, who the heck is Aphrodite? How had I known she was the goddess of beauty.
It's almost as if the Greek-ness of this place had infected me, and now I'm delirious.
Chiron spoke. "You all can just- wander around camp. Just don't get into anybody's way because... Oh never mind. Just be careful."
The remaining nine of us shrugged and walked out of the big front door.
FELICITY'S POV
I can't believe this stupid camp separated my sister from me. How come our 'mom' only claimed Caroline? Was I not so special because I was younger?
As we took a look around camp, I tried to stick by the only other kid my age; Simon. He was quiet, sweet, and funny. I wondered when he was going to be claimed.
"Felicity,"
"Watch were you're"
"Going," the twins Sam and Eric say, finishing each others sentences. They give each other mysterious glances as they scamper away ahead of the group.
My eyes follow their heads, however, as I see golden winged shoes pop over their heads and a random camper run up to them and congratulate them.
"Welcome to Hermes," he said, laughing. "I'll show you the cabin." The twins looked at me in their creepy twin ways before leaving and I shudder.
"Hey Felicity," Simon says shyly.
"Hi Simon," I replied. "Aren't you wondering about your godly parent?"
He shrugs. "I'm pretty much new to this whole thing." I laugh.
"Me too, what a coincidence!" I say. He smiles and I know it sounds cheesy, but my heart literally melts right out of my body. His stare turns into confusion when he looks above my head.
"Is it an owl?" I ask, excitedly. He looks at the ground, shaking his head. What?
A crowd starts to form around me and I see a gorgeous girl push through the crowd to see me.
"Hi sweetheart, I'm Drew, your sister." She smiled so sweetly it make me sick to my stomach.
No you're not, Caroline's my sister!
"Let me take you to the cabin."
I reluctantly follow her to a pink cabin that smelled of my grandmother's perfume and an entire makeup store.
"It's my job to greet the new Aphrodite campers," she says.
"No it is not." I turn around and see a model looking older boy glaring at Drew.
"Piper's the head of this cabin, only she's not here." The boy introduced himself as Austin, my brother. Why do they keep saying that?
"Well, Felicity, right?" She asks and I nod.
"Felicity, but for all new campers you get to have the wonderful job of cleaning the toilets for a week!" she screamed, like I had just won tickets for a concert.
"But Piper-" Austin started. Drew said something to him that made him shut up.
"Um, Drew," I say in my cute little girl tone and stare at her with my big, green eyes. "I don't think I really want that job." She steps back, startled, like she was in a trance, and said, "sure, whatever you need, Felicity."
I smile at Austin's gaping mouth. "How did you... The only charmspeak that powerful... Piper..."
I was confused. Who was this almighty Piper? And what did I just do to Drew?
