Danny told me had spoken to his room mate. A week later he moved out and Danny promised that was the last I'd see of him. The efforts  that he was making to give me piece of mind were commendable. If he was making an effort to reach me halfway with my issues I felt like I should too. I owed it to him. Despite our bumps in the road, we were both trying. Things were definitely not as perfect as they used to be, but we were on the right track. I felt obligated to show him that I was willing to reach him halfway as well.

The weather started to get cooler recently, but I for one, didn't mind. I loved the changing of the seasons from summer to autumn. It was the time of the year where it was acceptable to wear sweaters again, and I was so ready for it. Not to mention with the coming of autumn came beautiful changes, pestering insects had disappeared, leaves had started changing colors, and best of all, pumpkin spice everything was in season.

Call me generic, but I loved the pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, and Danny knew it all too well.

He truly did spoil me and at this point I had given up on trying to stop him. Whenever we went to the store he'd always buy me it.

We had stopped by there before he had taken me out, It was about eight in the afternoon and we were in the same park he had taken me to the first time we hung out.

The sun had already gone done and the park was pretty empty. We walked down the same nature trail we did the first time we came here. Leaves littered the ground and the crunched under our feet as we walked.

Daniel and I walked for a long time in silence. I didn't mind, it gave me time to drink my coffee and I'm sure he didn't either. It's not that we didn't have anything to talk about, we  just didn't have to spend every moment talking, Each other's company was enough.

The trail eventually opened into a small fenced off area with a small playground. My eyes widened almost instantly when I saw it.

"Holy shit, dude." I said.

"What?" He seemed puzzled.

"Fucking swings!" I pointed to the far side of the enclosure past the jungle gym where there was a set of six swings. "Race ya, dude!" I turned to him smiling.

He rolled his eyes and grinned at me. "Child."

"Forever and always." I winked at him and ran off, leaving him behind.

I sat in the closest of the swings and used my feet to kick off. Danny eventually made his way over, leaning against the fence of the enclosure, watching me.

"Come swing with me." I demanded.

He laughed, " Aren't we a bit too old for this?"

"Dude, don't even say that. You're never too old for swings. Get your ass over here."

"Yea, whatever." He seceded, hopping onto the swing next to me.

He swung himself back and forth with me in unison.

"So, this is what you do for fun, huh?" He asked mockingly.

"Killjoy. Mad that I can go higher than you?"

"You're saying that like it's some sort of talent." He said with a smirk.

"Yea, one you don't have too." I laughed.

"Oh, really now?" He said jumping off his swing.

He disappeared behind me for a moment before I felt his hands on my back. He pushed me forward with force that almost made me fly off the seat.
