Chris Prayer Before the Visit

Chris sat in his room at the rehab facility with his counselor, trying to figure out his life. He began to speak and this is the conversation that ensued.

Counselor: Christopher, how long did the anger last vs the hurt last vs the love last?
Chris: The anger only starts when someone brings it up, the hurt comes cause I believe it could be true, but the love overshadows it all cause I still want to be with her, love her, hold her, kiss her, make love to her, marry her, be great with her.  It's all I want.
Counselor: Then why does it matter Chris?
Chris: Because I'm a man and I got pride. You know how that looks to the world if I'm with someone who would do this to me in public? I'm Chris Brown, I have to work with these niggas, well some of them, and ...
Counselor:..stop right there son. Love covers a multitude of sin, but pride comes before destruction. This is not about her and even if it's true or not what people are saying, it's simply the fact you are more interested in man's approval than Mine. You talking about how it makes you look, what about how it makes her look? She works with those same faces, and she's walking around allowing her heart to turn to stone, so she can turn off the pain, and you are over here wallowing in yours. Last question: does it matter? If it's all true, does that unconditional love for her turn into one of conditions?
Chris: I still want to be with her. But I don't know if I can handle all of these rumors, then my friends coming to tell me it's true.
Counselor: What does she say?
Chris: She says it's not true, but of course she gone lie!
Counselor: Like you did?
Chris: Me? I haven't lied to her.
Counselor: Chris half truths are full lies. You telling Robyn that she had to understand that Karrueche was there for you in your darkest time, so you can't just drop her was not entirely truth. The truth was, you knew Robyn could have no contact with you, even though you were willing to go against that...yet you knew the rules. You knew that she was dealing with her own issues, and the truth was Karrueche was your safety net. And when you seen her with Drake (someone you thought had your back, even though he never gave you any indication that he was a friend) you began to hold resentment toward her. But you didn't tell her that.
Chris: Why I need to tell her that? This is not my fault! She had no business with him, we in the same business...
Counselor: Chris, she is in the same business.
Chris: Well it doesn't matter, she a female...ugh!
Counselor: Again Chris I ask you, does the love outweigh all of your reasonings of you feel about her being with other men?
Chris: Yes...no...I DON'T KNOW?!
Counselor: If she judged her love for you based on how many people you have slept with in/out of the industry...would it be fair?
Chris: No because I didn't sleep with people she knew, well some anyway.
Counselor: Chris when you are not together, why does she owe you loyalty in an industry that you both work in? People sleep with co-worker all the time. And a hoe (as you have called her) usually try to sleep with people in a position to give them an advantage. Tell me how Meek Mill, Drake, Wale, ASAP Rocky, and the such are able to give Rihanna an advantage, or help her achieve a higher status, go to another level, by her being with them? Yet you go on these emotional rants that only widen the gap between the two of you, only to return to the same conclusion: You love her, and want to be with her. In the meantime she conversing with dudes, drinking, smoking, and working herself to a degree that there barely is time for her to even celebrate how far she has come, despite it all. She knows she needs help, but is masking it underneath her schedule.
Yet she finds herself alone at night still thinking about you, what the future holds for you guys, getting angry all over again cause she thinks you are the reason ya'll are broken, and yet her running away constantly has you afraid, so you settle.
Don't you know that no matter what you choose with Robyn, Karrueche is not equipped to birth out the vision God gave you? She knows it,m and so do you, but fear of being alone has gripped your heart, and is ruling you. You got to feed your spirit God's word, and speak to the spirit of fear God's word, so it can flee from you. Now prepare for your visit with Robyn. She coming to see you.
