We picked it up at the same and a big flash happened with a big wind. Caleb and I fell back. Two times, really? I stood up again and this time helped Caleb up.

I couldn't find Mack, where was she?

"Casey!" Caleb yelled really loud, and his breathing was uneasy and his eyes were huge.

"What, what's the-"I got cut off at the sight of Mack, she looked paralyzed.

I walked around her body and she lost most of her color. Caleb and I tried getting her back to normal by shaking, calling her name and slapping her, but, nothing.

"What the heck! What's wrong with her?" I was really concerned, why didn't this happen to me?

I looked down at my hands, my palm was completely black and then I looked at Mack's hand, it was black too. It's almost as if, she's cursed. Did anything happen to me? I was scared. Caleb and I didn't say a word; we were quiet for at least two minutes.

"Equations."

"What was that Caleb?" I turned around to face him.

He was shaking, "that wasn't me, it was..." He breathed deeply, "It was Mack."

"Equations."

"Why is she saying that?" I was getting nervous.

Caleb threw his hands up in the air, "how am I supposed to know?!"

"Equations equations equations." Mack still wasn't moving and her voice was emotionless, she was like a robot now.

"We should start walking, come on, I think I know which direction to go." Caleb said.

I agreed and we both put Mack's arms around our shoulders and started dragging her with us. Every few minutes I looked down at my hand, it was still black; I don't know why I'm expecting it to change.

20 minutes passed and Mack was saying "Equations" almost every minute. I started to see roads and cars, well one road and one car. I was exhausted; I don't think I could take another step while pulling Mack's weight with me. In the distance I saw a little house thing. I dropped Mack and started sprinting until I got there. A couple seconds later Caleb showed up with Mack on his back. I knocked on the door, nothing. I tried opening it and it was unlocked. I walked right in with Caleb right behind me, the house smelled like salt, just like the box. It was pitch black until I found a string hanging from the ceiling, I pulled it and a light bulb shined on, it gave off a small glow and I tried looking for more light source's but this was the only one. Thinking about the box made me look at my hand again, it was still black but there was a pattern, an equal sign.

"Equation." I whispered to myself.

"What was that Casey?" Caleb asked.

"Look at my hand!" I felt sweat beat against my forehead.

"Is that-"I cut him off,

"Equal sign." I answered.

"Equation." He whispered.

I kept thinking about it and then I remembered about Mack, her hand was black too. I ran to her and she was seated nicely on this really old fashioned chair. I looked at her hand and it was still black. I turned around to face Caleb when I saw the walls, all of them had paintings on them, I walked closer to get a look, and there were a bunch of numbers.

Caleb was nervously running his fingers through his hair while looking at his phone for the time.

"Great. Just great. It's almost midnight and we are stranded in the middle of nowhere while our best friend is stunned while repeating the same word over and over again! Questa è tutta colpa tua Casey! Sapevo che non avremmo dovuto andati al partito ma no, si doveva parlare con me in esso!"

"Stop it! I hate it when you yell at me in Italian!" Caleb always talks in Italian whenever he's mad and it annoys the heck out of me, Mack thinks it's cute.

"Mi dispiace, I mean, I'm sorry." Caleb nervously bit his lip, "I'm just scared."

I rubbed his back. "I know, I am too."

I started crying, I don't know why, I'm just losing it. Caleb tried to comfort me but I didn't let him. I'm not much of a crier and I never let anyone see me cry.

"Get away Caleb."

"No, Casey its okay you can cry."

"I said get away Caleb!" I walked away while swinging my arm back and heard a loud thump. I turned around and saw Caleb lying on the ground rubbing his head in pain.

"Oh my gosh, Caleb are you okay? What happened?" I felt horrible, but still confused; I didn't do anything, right?

"When you swung your arm back some sort of force thing shoved me back against the wall." Caleb was still lying on the ground.

"You're kidding right?" I cocked an eyebrow. "There is no way I could have launched you back."

Caleb jumped up and dusted himself off, "Here," He handed me an old vase, "try to swing it back."

I gave him an 'are you kidding me' look but I did it anyways because I knew he wouldn't give up so I did it anyways. I concentrated hard and swiped my hand from the left to the right and the vase flew out of Caleb's hand and it shattered on the floor. My eyes got huge, how could I of done that?! I stared at my hands and the equation turned into a shadowy vase.
