Prologue:
I was in the winter of my life, and the girl I met along the way was my only summer. At night I fell asleep with visions of myself dancing, laughing, and crying with her. My memories of her were the only thing that sustained me and kept me sane. Those were my only real happy times. I had dreams of us, but upon an unfortunate series of events, I saw those dreams dashed and divided, like a million stars in the night sky that I wished on. Over and over again. Sparkling and Broken. I didn't really mind, because I knew that it takes getting everything you ever wanted, and then losing it, to know what true freedom is. If the people I knew, like her, found out what I was doing, how I've been living, they'd ask me why? But there's no use in talking to people who have a home. They have no idea what it's like to seek trust in other people. For home to be where ever you lie your head. I was always unusual. No fixed personality. No moral compass pointing due north. Just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide in its wavering as the ocean, and if I said I didn't plan for it to turn out this way, I'd be lying. She gave her heart to someone who had nothing, and wanted everything. With a fire for every experience, and an obsession for freedom. That terrified me to the point that I couldn't even talk about it. It pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me.

Part 1:
Levi Ackerman
Levi Ackerman. A delinquent, meandering around the underground city of the capital. Mindlessly kicking the garbage that formed in his way. He walked leisurely, his black hair slicked forward, and his gray eyes piercing whoever dares to meet them.
Click-clink-clonk.
The sound of Levi's boots echoed as he walked farther and farther down the dirted road. Levi ignored the desperate citizens of the underground city, who yearned for money and food. Two things Levi had plenty of. One citizen caught Levi's eye though. Levi stared as he stopped walking to see a beaten up little girl, around 10 years of age, curled up against a pile of garbage. This is where our story begins...
Levi squatted next to the girl, lifting up her head so he could see her face clearly. Her eyes were closed and her mouth was parted slightly as blood trailed down and out of her mouth. He wondered if she was trying to say something, but she couldn't find the strength to bring it to words. Levi took in a big sign and began.
"What's a little brat like you doing in a filthy pile of garbage like this?" Levi spoke a firm voice.
"I." she paused for a second then continued. "I was trying to find food and then I got attacked by a gang.." She stopped tears forming in her eyes.
"You don't have to explain it." Levi said releasing her from his grip.
She plopped back into the pile of garbage, as Levi got up and dusted himself off.
"Where's your parents? Your house?" Levi asked the small child.
"I don't know. My parents left me at a young age" The girl said.
Levi frowned and thought for a moment. "Well, you're not going to survive any better sitting in a pile of garbage, so how about you come home with me."
She stared up at Levi like she couldn't believe what he was saying. "Really?" she beamed.
Levi groaned."Don't get any ideas idiot, it's only for tonight."
He held out his hand as he lifted the girl out of the garbage. Levi started walking as the girl followed slowly behind. After a little while the girl began to tug at Levi's leg, a sad pout crossing her face.
"Tch. What are you doing brat?" Levi asked.
"Carry me." The little girl whined.
Levi's face became stern and cold "Tch, why would I do that?"
The girl pouted and crossed her arms, "Please, big brother."
Levi jumped a little to the new sudden label. "Brother?"
"Yeah! Big brother!" The girl jumped up and down cheerfully and energetic.
"I'm not your brother and I'm not carrying you." Levi said sternly, an angry expression crossing his face.
The girl started to form tears in her eyes as she looked down at the ground.
"Tch. Stop crying, I'll carry you." Levi groaned.
"Yay!" The girl squealed.
"Tch."
Levi squatted down, and opened up his arms. The little girl leaped into Levi's arms as Levi got up and started carrying her towards his house. The little girl started falling into a slumber, when Levi shook her awake.
"Tch. Don't fall asleep. What's your name anyway brat?" Levi asked.
"Isabel!" She stated firmly.
"Well Isabel, were here."
Levi placed Isabel down as he opened the door. A boy, about the same age as Levi, sat on the couch in front of them."
"Who's that?" The boy asked.
" Her name is Isabel, she'll be staying with us tonight." Levi stated.
Levi headed to the kitchen and sat at the dining table, while Isabel ran and sat next to the boy on the couch.
"Well, I'm Farlan and that's Levi." Farlan told Isabel.
"Farlan..Levi.." She studied the names in her head, before continuing.
"Farlan and Big brother!" Isabel squealed energetically.
Levi turned his head to hear once again the label used by Isabel. "Tch."
"Big Brother, eh?" A smirk appeared on Farlan's face.
Levi rolled his eyes in annoyance, as he got up from the table starting to leave the house, when Isabel stopped him.
"Please let me stay here! I want to be just like you, big brother!" Isabel pleaded and whined.
Levi sighed thinking about the offer that was presented. Farlan shrugged, not seeming to mind Isabel's presence.
"If you stay here, learn to stay out of the garbage."
And with that, Levi left the house. Isabel turned to Farlan looking for a response, and he simply nodded his head in approval. Isabel turned towards the door, beaming with excitement.
"Thank you, Big Brother!" Isabel screamed.
