--How it all began--

Rain and Nova were in bathroom, shoving each other to get a glance of themselves in the mirror. The sisters had been getting ready for a party being thrown on campus and they only had an hour to get ready. "Come on, Nova!  Move!" Rain demanded. She shoved herself in front Nova so that she could get a better view. But before she could apply any makeup Nova pulled her back and quickly took her place in front of the mirror. "You can't put on eyeliner in a different room? I thought you had a mirror hanging on your door."

--"You mean the one you shattered with controller when you were playing Chaos 4?" Nova went completely silent. She'd forgotten about that incident and she was still apologizing for it. "Alright, fine. You win." Was all she could say, before walking out of the bathroom and leaving Rain behind.

After 30 more minutes of doing some finishing touches the girls finally headed out. "Try and stay close to me. Dad would kill you for getting wasted and then take me down with you, for letting it happen." Nova rolled her eyes at her sister's warning as they entered the building. Nova could feel the bass of the loud music pulsating through the floor, as soon as they walked in. There lots of people who seemed like they were enjoying themselves. Some drinking, some on the dance floor with their friends. Occasionally, there was that one person who stood against the wall. It was like reliving prom, all over again. But what really caught Nova's attention was a Goth boy who looked like he was watching her, from across the room. With one blink, he disappeared and this made Nova a bit uneasy.

Nova had been so lost in in her own thoughts that she didn't even notice Rain speaking to her, until she snapped her fingers in her face. "You okay, No-No? You look like you just saw a ghost." Whatever it was. It sure as hell wasn't a ghost, that's for sure. Giving a nod Nova looked at her sister with a plastered on smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just so excited." Deep down Rain knew something was wrong but she didn't wanna point out, not in a place like this. "I'm gonna go and get us some drinks. Promise me you'll be a good girl and stay right?" Nova nodded and didn't say a word. She was thinking about that boy. Rain went off to the bar and left Nova, hopefully to come back to her being in the same spot.

She minded her own business, didn't go off anywhere, didn't speak to anyone, until HE showed up.  The boy that had been watching Nova. "What's a beautiful girl like you, doing all alone in a place like this? " He asked. He spoke to her in a charming voice and gave a sweet smile. "I'm not alone, I'm with my sister. So I suggest you go try your cheesy pickup line, someplace else," Nova retorted. The boy chuckled. He could tell right away,  she was going to be trouble.

"I normally don't go up to random girls I just met and talk to them. But you're just so beautiful, I couldn't resist." Nova blushed and looked away. 'Rain, please hurry.' She inwardly pleaded. "Would you like to go someplace, quieter? There's a park around the corner."
She quietly debated on this. She promised Rain that she wouldn't leave, but she was also tired of waiting. She pulled her phone out and sent a text that said she was stepping out for a bit. She and the mysterious boy headed out the door.

Upon arriving, they didn't really speak. It was silence on both ends. Then she finally said it. "So, is there any reason why you brought me here?" He locked the door to his car and gave a mischievous smile. "My dear, please forgive me." His eyes were a deep red, as his expression turned from calm, to hungry. Nova saw his canines elongate, which only made her scream in fear. By the time she could react it had already been too late. The boy bit into her neck and caused Nova's body to convulse, violently before going slack. The boy unlatched his jaws from her neck and wiped her blood from his lips. "Again, you must forgive me. I just couldn't help myself." He told her as he dragged her unconscious body and gently laid her on the ground.

'What's this light, it's so warm and feels amazing.' It felt as if Nova was lying down on a ball of warmth. That's when she heard it. The gentle, but rhythmic sound if a drum. 'A heartbeat?  That's not mine, is it? No. It can't be.' Nova open her eyes and saw that she was in a unfamiliar room. 'How did I get here?' She thought. The sound got louder, filling her ears.

--You're awake." A familiar, yet tired voice uttered. Nova sat up, only to find Rain sitting on a chair across from the bed. Only, she wasn't looking at her sister. She was looking at the purple veins pulsating in Rain's neck. Without realizing it, her eyes turned a bright purple. And in a flash, Nova had tackled Rain and pinned her to the ground. She held Rain by her throat and licked her lips.

Rain, who was terrified by her sister's sudden actions, struggled to get free. Nova was going for her neck, and trying to keep her off, was an issue since Nova had a newly found strength. "Nova!  It's me,  Rain! What are you doing?" But Nova couldn't hear her.  She's been to overwhelmed by her sudden hunger. Nova leaned into Rain's neck, barely grazing her fangs against the skin.  But what she wasn't counting on was the small silver sliver of light peaking out from behind the curtain.

Nova immediately drew back with inhuman speed back into the bed. It finally hit her. She almost killed her sister. A look of fear and regret showed on her face, soon after. "I'm so sorry."
