"And this is your room," David the Monster tells me, pointing into a small room with black walls that cobwebs litter as well as the windows, a mattress is in the middle of the room, there's a small chest of draws and a big box.

"Colourful," I observe sarcastically.

"Be grateful for what you have," he growls, he pushes me in my new 'room', "don't come down unless we call you, you can only use this and the bathroom, to go anywhere else you need your mum's or mine permission or you will suffer from it."

"Happy life," I mutter.

"What was that?" He demands, swirling me around so I have to look at him.

"I was just saying how much fun I'm going to have!" I fake enthusiasm.

"That's what I thought," he growls and pushes me into my room, so hard I hit the floor; as I hit it, a load of dust comes up, making me cough, I look at David the Devil with daggers in my eyes, "tea is in two hours, try to not have too much fun in that time," he leers and storms off, slamming the door behind him.

"What about my bags?" I call after him, scrambling up.

"Come get them!" He shouts, but didn't he mention something about getting their permission into other rooms? Whatever, that's permission enough, besides what's the worst that could happen? I open my door slowly, though I don't know why, it is my house too after all. I look both ways before  continuing downstairs, I'm just following my instinct now even if I don't want to. Annoying. The stairs creak like they did when I came up the stairs, making as much noise as they can; can anything go right? I highly doubt it.

"They're coming...us...tonight," Mrs Witch (I have more respect for her and I don't know her name yet) says worriedly as I pass the door that they're in.

"Go! Save yourself! If they catch you you're dead!" An unknown voice screams, in agony.

"What can we do? I doubt that she'll join us, she'll probably kill herself before she does!" The Devil (I said I'd shorten it) shouts, at least I can hear them clearly now.

"Threaten her," The Witch says calmly (no more respect for that lady).

"With what?" The Devil asks, I can see the evil smirk on his face in my mind.

"Her old friends. Lily. Animals. Her life." She lists, merde (Italian, wasn't allowed those words in English so I learnt them in Spanish and Italian) I back up with wide eyes, and start running outside, not caring about the noise I was making, not caring about the footsteps behind me.

I make it outside and skid to where I put my bags, picking them up in a bundle in my arms and running aimlessly.

"HEY YOU DIRTY LITTLE PIECE  OF-" The Devil yells.

"Don't swear you imbecile!" The Witch chastises him, really? You're worried about swearing now? I continue running as fast as I can even though my throat is burning like hell, my body aches from all the running as I never ever do this kind of thing, especially in the middle of the night. When I'm sure they can't get me I slow down a bit and then realise I'm the biggest idiot alive, when they gave up running after me, they probably went back to get the car, which means that at the nearest place I need to change where I'm heading so they can't find me again - ever.

I turn around multiple bends until I'm confident they won't find me here as I'm on a country rode with a ditch and possibly a river beside me, however this means that I'm now lost; all of a sudden the road is lighted up, confused, I turn around and see a car, thankful, I stick out my arm like I've been told hitchers do to catch a ride. The car slows down and I finally get to get a better look at the drivers: The Devil and the Witch, panicked, I drop all of my bags and roll don the ditch, where, as I presumed there was, a river. I hear some rustling, one of them has probably gotten out to come out, as the water isn't very deep, I decide to crawl under some of the overhanging vegetation.

Silence.

I let out out a small of relief when I feel arms grabbing me making me scream my lungs out, I thrash around when I'm picked up, trying to escape to no avail.  Abruptly, my attacker loosens their group on me, allowing me to run away, or, well, if run means taking two steps then flopping down into the water repeatedly. When I get to the other side of the ditch, I scramble up, trying to be quick which inevitably makes me slower, I grab at any roots, ignoring the spikes and sting I get given in the process, when I get up I don't even look back to my saviour, I just run until I almost run into a  motorcycle.

The ride is almost a shocked as I am, when I start running again, the rider stops me by grabbing my arms, I try to get away (obviously) but again, to no avail, am I really that weak?

"Hey, hey, calm down," the stranger says, who has apparently taken their helmet off, I look at their face and see he's very pale with brown hair and it looks like he almost has red eyes which is impossible unless he's wearing contacts. "I'm not going to hurt you," he says, why should I believe him? The look on my face must tell him my thought. "I'm Alex by the way."

"I'm Ash," I tell him, Alex must be a nick name so I think that's only fair that I also tell him my nickname, he smiles, he looks so attractive with the moonlight reflecting on his face...no, Ashley, you don't know him, he could be psychopath.

"Huh," he chuckles.

"What?"

"Not many people are able to resist me...you must be pretty special Ash to not be affected by it," he explains leaving me even more confused, "where are you going?" He asks before I get a chance to ask anything, again, he takes the initiative and concludes I've run away, how, I don't know, "want a ride, I'm heading east if you want to come," he offers. It takes me a moment to process everything to realise my choices are this: decline his offer and probably go back to 'my new parents' or accept his offer and hope to not get killed and try and find a way back to Lily.

"Okay," I say, then looking up and meeting his weird eyes, he looks taken aback, like he expected me to say no, if I was confident in my abilities to read properly I might have said that only if he's okay with it still, possibly. Okay, not likely but still.

"Great," he's about to put his helmet back on but surprisingly offers it to me, "I only have one," he explains, I shake my head.

"You keep it after all, you are driving," I walk over to the bike, waiting for him to get on, after he gets over his initial shock, he puts his helmet back on and walks over to his bike, swinging his leg over it and getting comfortable, then I get the back, feeling a bit awkward, do I put my arms around his waist?

"I don't bite, put your arms around my waist unless you want to be thrown off, which I will not feel obligated to see if you are alive," Alex says, making me jump, I hesitantly put my arms around his waist, making him start forward annoyingly, as that scares me and I grip onto him tighter. We ride into the abyss of the night, away from all my troubles and most likely into new ones, for now though, I don't care.
