Little Christmas Special

One-shot (For my 101 Followers!)

Hey guys, since I'm already done with this special story, I thought that might as well publish it before I forget, so here it is!

It is snowing outside in the city of Mobotropolis, and the people in it are already started to search a for a Christmas present for their loved ones, despite the fact that Christmas day is not until another week, but they were all still excited for the day. One of them just happen to be Shadow, who is hurrying his way home after a long day at work, as GUN's new commander. Ever since he became commander, he's been worried about how his wife, Sonic, who's currently pregnant with a single baby. Shadow keeps thinking that without him by Sonic's side, things might fall despite the fact that he has already asked his friends to take over his place, so Sonic could have some help and company while he's away.

Shadow: *reaches home and opens the door* Sonic! I'm finally home!

Sonic: *with his friends in the living room* Good to have you back honey. Rouge, Cream and Amy were just finishing cooking dinner.

Shadow: *panting* Sorry...that I couldn't...spend time with you anymore...GUN has gotten something new and I had to settle...in fact...I still am... *goes to her and gently hugs her*

Sonic: *hugs back* It's okay honey, I know that being commander isn't easy. Don't worry about me, our friends are here to help after all.

Shadow: *lets go from the hug and sighs* I can't help it. I just keep thinking that something would happen and I won't be there to help you know.

Sonic: I know honey, but it's okay, just calm down, everything is fine now.

Shadow: *sighs and smiles* Alright.

Shadow nuzzles Sonic before kneeling down to her belly to nuzzle it too.

Shadow: *wiggles his ears in excitement* Hello baby, I missed you so much. Did you miss me? *gets a gentle kick* Yeah you did. *nuzzles back*

Sonic and the others laughed in awe at the sight, and felt happy that Shadow was able to have the family that deserved after what has happened to him. Sonic was also happy that she was able to bring him happiness, and promised that she will keep it that way too. As Shadow was interacting with his baby, Tails and Rouge started coming in from the kitchen.

Tails: Hey Shadow, great to see you're back from work.

Rouge: The new problem becoming more of a pain~?

Shadow: *sighs* Yeah...and I don't even have a minute to spend with my family. *looks down*

Sonic: *looks down to Shadow and rubs his back*

Tails: But it's okay now, it's almost Christmas, and you spend that day with all of us with great happiness.

Shadow: *looks down for a while before looking back up with a smile* You're right, I have Christmas to spend with you guys, and I definitely couldn't miss it. *looks at Sonic* I promise to make this Christmas the best one yet.

Sonic: The only that will make it the best, is you being here with us honey. *smiles*

Shadow and smiled back, and hugged her gently. He loved her because of that, she understood so much and loved him too. He loved her back for that and couldn't do anything in return, but help make her dreams come true. He wouldn't know what to do without her, she was the only person that has ever understood him, and he couldn't ask for anything more...then to have a life that he wished for with her. The next two days, Shadow had been working hard, and finally got some time off from it by his CEO, so he could help the other and his wife prepare for Christmas coming up in five days. Once he was done with work, he went straight home to check what's going on.
