Starting Over

Lost? part 2

AUTHORS NOTE ( This chapter is going to start right from the ending of the last)

   I open my eyes, but all I can see are shiny, blurry, white lights, when I finally get my vision back I see Mike sleeping in the chair next to the window. Some lady walks in "hey you're up, how do you feel?" she asks.
   I look frantically around the room trying to see where I am. I'm hooked up to a bunch of wires and a computer, but why?
"Where am I?" I ask. "You're in the hospital" She tells me "I'm your nurse and my name is Bethany."
   I see Mike waking up out of the corner of my left eye.
 "Your up" Mike says relieved. "Yeah, but what are we doing here?" I ask no one in particular. "You fell in the auditorium and hit your head, remember?" Mike asks me looking down at his shoes. "No, sorry" I apologize to him "how long was out?" "You were out about two days" Bethany tells me.
   I look around the room again, I was out for two days, what did I miss? How much can actually happen in two days? How long has Mike been here? Why would he stay here? He barely knows me, In that case I barely know me, or him. What about Mia, is that why she was yelling? Was it really my fault?
  "Can I ask you a couple of questions?" Bethany asks me. "Sure" I say. "Do you remember your name?" She asks me as she walks over to the counter and getting her lap top. "Yeah, its Carder" I tell her remembering waking up on the bench and Mike asking me almost the same question, only a few days ago. "Good, how old are you?" She asks me and I realize that she is probably going to ask me the same questions Mike did when he found me. "I think I'm 15" I say. She doesn't answer right away, she has the same look on her face that Mike did when I said 'I think I'm 15'.                                                                                                                                                                                            She looks back at her computer with a worried look. "Well I'm sorry to tell you this, but you have no medical insurance and you have never been here before" Bethany tells me I think she really is sorry by the way she said that. "How much is the bill, I'll pay" Mike says looking over at Bethany. "Are you sure?" she asks concerned. "Yeah, I'm sure" Mike says with a smile then looks at me, I don't have a smile on my face because Mike barely knows me and yet he takes me to the hospital and pays for my hospital bill, I'll have to pay him back, of course I will after I find a job.        Mike walks out of the room with Bethany, I don't want him to pay for me, but then again I can't, and I'll pay him back as soon as I can.                                                                                                                              I lay back in the bed and close my eyes, I start to imagine how my life is going to be, or how it's going to play out, but all I can see is black, I guess it's not the right time to find out yet or I don't have a future.                                                                                                                                                                               Mike and Bethany walk in and I jolt up hoping they didn't see me laying down.                                      "Okay, so you're ready to go home" Bethany tells me. I think she thinks that Mike is my dad, but he's not, he's just doing his job, he doesn't actually care if I live on the streets or not, but he has to follow the laws, so in that case he has to make sure that I'm not on the streets because I'm a minor, I think.                                                                                                                                                                           Bethany hands him a clipboard and a stack of papers, she said that he just needs to sign the release forms for us to go home, and the rest he can do at home.                                                                       After he sighs the paper we walk out of the hospital and go straight to the police car, "I'm going to make a phone call really quick, if you want you can wait in the car" he tells me. I get in the car, about 10 minutes later Mike gets in and we leave.                                                                                                    "Where are we going?" I ask still a little groggy. "Well first we need to go get your prescription, then we'll go to the station" Mike explains. "Okay" I say, looking out the window.                                    I rest my head on my hand and stare out the window, my eyesight is getting blurry and my eyes are really heavy, when I finally let them fall shut.                                                                                                      "Hey are you awake?" I hear Mike say in a whisper, while shaking me. "we'er here". I don't say anything but I move my head enough to finally get me up. "Yeah, I'm up" I say in a whisper as I unbuckle my seat belt and get out of the car with my eyes still shut. I open my eyes once we walk into the station, it's so bright, and my head hurts. We walk over to Mike's computer, I don't pay much attention to what he's doing, I just look around the station, seeing all the people in their uniforms.                                                                                                                                                                                      "Where's the bathroom?" I ask still dazed. "Down the hall, last door to the left" Mike tells me. I walk down to the bathroom, when I go inside I see the mirror and walk over, I look in the mirror, I have dark brown shoulder length hair with blonde highlights and purple tips, dark brown eyes, and my only outfit I have is my balk cami and my jean shorts.                                                                            I don't remember what I used to look like when I was little but I guess I won't until I find my parents, if I find my parents.                                                                                                                                                I walk back to Mike who is now standing with Athena, I didn't know she was going to be here.        "Hey, how are you doing?" Athena asks staring at me. "Fine I guess" I tell her looking at the ground. We all walk back to Mike's desk, until Mike and Athena get hollered for and they go to some older guy, But instead of following I stay, I look over at Mike's computer and see missing reports, but why is he looking at that? I'm I missing? They walk back over, looking some what mad, or sad or something like that.                                                                                                                                  "Hey, are you hungry?" Mike asks. "Sure" I tell him, trying to look away.                                                     We get to the restaurant, take our seats at a table, and start looking at the menus, it has pizza, spaghetti, burgers, pretty much anything.                                                                                                                     We get our drinks, I get sprint, Athena and Mike get the same, a coke.                                                         I try to order something cheep so I order a mac-in-cheese with chicken,  Athena gets a salad, and Mike gets a personal pizza.                                                                                                                                           After we're done eating, Mike looks over at Athena with wide eyes, then looks at me. I can tell by the expression in his eyes what he is going to say something bad, And I don't want to know what.                                                                                                                                                                                              "Carder, I'm so sorry, but I have to tell you this, your,- your lost" Mike tells me with a shudder, and a tear rolling down his cheek.                                                                                                                                    I'm lost, so does that mean I'm going to stay this missing puzzle piece, of this crazy puzzle called "life", forever?
