CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
Many things Reagan thought wouldn't happen in years have occurred in less than a week, and it was all because of a misguided school bus that happened to break down in their highway. They had overnight visitors, they used the poorly maintained pickup truck, and their storage garage was finally opened after years of being untouched.
Jack, Daniel and Jonah were the ones to haul the garage door up and it was quite the feat considering the sliding sides have rusted and it took a great deal of strength to push it up.
Meanwhile, Logan who seemed like the most capable person to lift heavy garage doors, was still sat on the trunk because, "I'm the one you left with Corbyn. It's your turn suffer."
When the garage door was lifted, the three boys were panting and the scent of dust and stale air and a whole lot of heat flowed out easily.
"Did someone die here?" Jonah exclaimed and Reagan pulled a face at him.
"It hasn't been opened for years, what did you expect?"
Being the dainty, children they were, the three boys groaned and complained, fanning the air to ventilate it and Reagan stopped herself from rolling their eyes.
It took ten minutes before they went inside and Reagan started pointing at boxes that she thought the tents were in.
Afterwards, the designated time meant for searching was spent with the boys gushing over some of the trinkets Reagan's family collected over the years.
Jonah was particularly impressed by the baseball trophies her older brother amassed and a signed ball by some athlete Reagan's never even heard of, and Daniel found an old film camera that looked centuries old.
"This is a polaroid camera, isn't it?" Daniel asked, beyond excited, "like a legitimate vintage polaroid camera?"
Honestly, Reagan couldn't even tell. She just shrugged, completely uninterested, "I guess?"
Daniel examined it closely and blew dust out of the lens and Reagan thought he was going to put it back in the box and help look for the tents until he exclaimed, "It is a polaroid camera!"
Reagan sighed, hauling a box to the floor, "Congrats."
Daniel gasped again, showing her a box, "There's even films left!"
Reagan wanted to be annoyed, she honestly did, but Daniel looked so happy so she humored him, "Does it work?"
"No," He frowned, "But I'll clean it and replace the battery and pray it's gonna work."
