Ryan

A sharp voice rang in my ears as I shifted on my bed. I winced against the sunlight that fell on my face next.

"Get up already!" Sebastian was shouting.

"Why? What's up?" I asked him as I tried to sit up even though I was high on sleep.

"Get dressed. We're going out." He said in more of a fatherly voice than ever. I grimaced at him. He smirked and turned towards the bathroom.

"So you'll make me ask it, yeah?" I said. He didn't answer.

"Oh for god's sake, where the hell are we going?! It's a freaking Sunday!"

"Don't you think it's a good reason to go out?" He said from the bathroom.

"In the freaking morning? Um....no!" I glanced at the clock. It wasn't even close to ten.

"The beach is far. It'll be noon when we reach there." Sebastian said as he came out and stood beside the bed.

"Okay but why the beach plan all of a sudden?"

He rolled his eyes. "I'm just bored, alright? And it'll do us both good if you get some air. You might be tired. I think we would get refreshed."

"Sounds good." I said because it actually did. I heaved myself out of bed and went to the bathroom to commence the morning necessities.

-----------

We took a bus to the other city. It had been a while since we had gone to the beach. It was a quiet place with few visitation even on Sundays. The last time I went there with Sebastian, a man got drowned in the waters only to be saved by a stranger later.

The two hour journey proved to be comfortable as I slept throughout it. The week's events had taken its toll on me. It would be a good idea to deviate my mind from everything, especially about what happened yesterday, lest the pain would devour me.

Finally, the beach was in sight. The next moment we were descending down the bus with our bags and heading towards the waters. Did I forget to tell you? I love to swim.

"Let's go!" I said. For the first time in what seemed to be eternity, I was feeling light. But Sebastian looked as if he wasn't listening to me. He was looking elsewhere. He was searching for something. When he spotted it, his eyes lit up. He waved at it and I realised that it was someone and not something he was looking for.

I peered in the direction he was looking. Someone was approaching us.

"You got to be kidding me!" I said in shock. Without a second thought, I started turned away and started running. I didn't look back for once. I ran as fast as I could. When I felt that I was safe, I stopped and caught my breath. I turned around only to find Sebastian running after me. I started to run again.

"Ryan wait!" He huffed.

"No! You lied to me!" I shouted as I ran.

"Please. Just listen to what I have to say!"

"No. Can't you let me live in peace for a day? I'm sick of it all. Just go away!"

"How long will you keep running?" He shouted. I stopped dead on my tracks and felt him stop behind me too.

"What did you fucking say?" I said calmly although my lungs were burning for air. "What the hell do you think I am doing for the past few days? Tell me."

He was silent for a while. "I know."

"Well that's that then. I have tried my best but things aren't working out. And if they can't then so be it."
