Percy opened his eyes to an unfamiliar room. It appeared to be a bedroom, sparsely furnished, with maroon flowered wallpaper and dingy fabrics curtains covering the windows. The second thing he noticed about his current state was that his clothes were unusually baggy. This was odd because his clothes were new and snug fitting before he was here. He was also tied up in a chair, unable to do more than drum his fingers on the arm of the it. Weirdly, the chair was much bigger than a typical one. Being over six feet tall and muscular, finding a chair that felt big was very strange. On the other hand, he had no idea where he was or what the date was. Previous experience made him curious if the gods were responsible, but something was off. Bedrooms straight out of the late 70's or mid 80's were very not their style.

Percy looked down at his wrist to check the time, but his watch wasn't there. His wrist was really skinny too. After camp, he had progressively gained muscle until he was pretty intimidating and very physically fit. On second glance, his clothes were much too big for him. Strange as this was, his feet swung from the chair, too short to reach the bottom. Percy realized with a fright he had shrunk, having lost both muscle mass and height.

Suddenly, he heard talking outside the bedroom door. Faint voices were speaking too quietly for Percy to hear everything but he was able to catch snippets that included but we're not limited to, "Albus, What have you done?", " Why is he here", and most cryptically, "All in good time". Then he heard the creak of a floor board and someone fiddling with the door knob. As the door opened, a weary old man appeared. He sat down on the bed opposite Percy. Keeping a straight face, the man waited a minute for Percy to ask questions, but Percy was not going to be the first to speak.

Sighing, the old man asked, " I bet you have a lot of questions, however, I have some of mine own first." He paused again for Percy, who simply raised an eyebrow at the old man.

"What is your name?"

"I'm sure you know if I'm here." Percy's voice seemed higher than normal.

"What is your relation to Voldemort?"

"Who?"

"You-know-who."

"No dude, I don't."

"What do you know about the killings of muggle borns in London last week?"

"What are muggles? London? Are you telling me I'm in Europe?!?" Percy was outraged and scared at the same time. Odd for him to be scared... typically he was just annoyed at situations like these. Zeus knows he'd been in enough of them.

"You are in an undisclosed location until you can be trusted. You've also been taken back in time, so no use calling on allies." The old man said in a passive aggressive way. A confused Percy wondered how he could ask such weird questions in a peaceful yet harsh manner.

Carefully Percy replied, " What do you mean taken back in time? What year is it?" Thousands of thoughts about the first prophecy he was in and what would happen if the gods discovered him alive before he returned the master bolt. If he was killed, Nico would be the one of the prophecy. Or would it be Thalia? Would camp be destroyed when he returned? What if he was brought back here to make it so he was never born? Would he fade away as it grew closer to when he was born? If energy never dies but is only converted to a different form, would he die as he was being born? Was the pact still a thing, making his very existence a threat to everyone around him?  What would happen if he met someone here in the past that he knew in the future? Surely there must be dire consequences to all of this.
The old man raised his eyebrows as if calculating how withholding this information could be useful to him. He sensed Percy's panic and decided to offer up a bargain with the boy.

"Perhaps we can make a trade; learn to work with one another. If you tell me your name, I'll tell you the year. We can make arrangements for other details as time passes."

"Fine. It's Percy."

"Well, Percy, do you have a last name?"

"Well sir, do you have the date?"

"It's 30th July, 19-," he paused, raising his eyebrows for effect, "I suppose you can wait to hear the year when you're ready to cooperate. The others aren't as nice as I am, Percy. You can choose how long your stay here is and what information you're given. You simply need to work with us. We're the good guys." He got up and started for the door.

"I'd hate to see the bad guys," Percy mumbled sarcastically under his breath.
The old man turned his head, but didn't react. He closed the door gently and left Percy alone in the dark.
