Boredom. The word entered his head.
It's only been a few minutes, and all she felt was boredom. What were Blaise and Nestor doing in a room all by themselves anyways? They had been there for so long.
She wanted to be in the room where it happens. She wanted to shoot three bullets at the wall and shout "BORED!"
Throughout her life, Darissa was known for being impatient (a trait that was passed down from her dad). She was always searching for something new, something exciting to stimulate her lifeless brain; however, nothing she found kept her entertained long enough to rescue her from her almost permanent state of boredom.
Ernest looked a little down too. Darissa couldn't blame him— he had been stranded on a tile for quite a long time. If she was to replace him, she would've fainted out of sleepiness and dread.
"I wish my brother were here..." Darissa heard him mumble grimly.
"Is your brother a..." Darissa paused, not knowing what to say next.
"A decent human being?" Owen suggested.
"A decent human being." Darissa said.
Ernest chuckled. "Yeah, of course. A great Bonder, too. I bet we would've gotten out of this room by now if he was here," he let out a long sigh. "Sometimes I wish I'm more like him..."
Darissa and Owen exchanged a long, meaningful stare: sibling rivalry. Tragic, yes. But also very entertaining to everyone who's not apart of the tragedy (such as Darissa and Owen themselves).
Just when Ernest was beginning to reveal his tragic past, Nestor (very untimely) called out from the other room.
"Darissa," he said, "Can you sense us?"
                              Darissa asked, "What?"
"Can you sense me and Blaise's Bonds?" He repeated.
She paused. Remembering what Ernest had told about her kind of Bonder— Feelers, Darissa decided that this was exactly Nestor needed her for— feeling. She imagined her senses reaching out into the other room, feeling every single individual Bonds, every single individual color, in there.
She went searching, eventually reached out to a dark yellow Bond. She reached further. Her senses touched the patterns of navy blue.
"Yes," she said, "I can feel them."
"Good," Nestor said, his voice solemn and assertive, "Do you see gaps in your room's walls?"
Darissa looked round the room. The walls were plain and spotless, lacking anything in shape of a gaps, "No."
"There are gaps in my room. I believe there are also gaps in your room, except they are hidden. Our main objective is to place the objects into the gaps," He said quickly, his voice a little muffled by the wall, "There are five objects on the ground in my room, each laying on a different tile. They're the directions we need to calculate which one of the objects in the piles you'll use to fit in the gaps."
                              "Yes?"
There wasn't voice for a moment. When they heard directions again from the room where it happens again, it was Blaise's voice, "The first pile, go second level third piece. Second pile third level third piece third one is level four and... and...."
"Uh, Blaise!" Darissa shouted, "Slow down a little!"
"Just calm down," she heard Nestor say to Blaise.
                              "I know... but the time..."
"We're just going to lose more time if you don't calm down."
"I know..." Blaise sounded both embarrassed and anxious, "I'll try..."
