Chapter 20

I awoke to the sun shining through the curtains. I looked over to see Chance, slightly snoring and sleeping away on the other side of my bed. He must have slipped in here in the middle of the night. I smile swept across my face. I heard Tessa's muffled voice through my closed door.
"Yeah very funny Martinez !!"
I sighed and knew that I had to make up with her, we had avoided each other ever since the last night that I was staying here at the house.
I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. I got up and put some sweatpants on, as I was only in an over sized t shirt once again. I leaned over and gently kissed chances sleeping face. I opened the door and went downstairs to the office where tessa was.
I walked in cautiously. She was sitting at the table, laptop infront of her, editing a video.
"Hey tessa" .
She turned around and looked at me and then looked back at the computer screen, acting as though I wasn't there.
"Look, you can ignore me all you want but I'm here to talk, just you don't have to say anything if you don't want but all I'm asking is that you atleast hear me out" I said propping myself up onto the table, practically infront of her. She looked up at me.
"When I came to visit, it was exciting and I was nervous because I'm not exactly the outgoing type, and I thought I wouldn't make friends here, but I did and it was you. And I'm sorry about everything that happened that last night, I truly am tessa. I was inconsiderate towards your feelings and I guess I didn't fully grasp how much Chance really meant to you. I let my feelings towards him get the best of me and our friendship. But things turned out and I mean look it, you're with jake and I know for a fact he treats you like a princess. Since we're living together now, I don't want to fight and avoid eachother anymore, I'm willing to fix our friendship if you are. So I really truly apologize tessa".
She looked at me for a Moment, deciphering, my plea. She closed her laptop half way and gave out a heavy sigh.
"No, I completely agree. I'm with jake now, yes and I'm happy, happier than I ever was when me and Chance had.. our thing going on. I could tell that he liked you, I let jealousy get the best of me, and although you made your mistakes, so have I. I shouldnt have lashed out at you and became the reason why you left so early. I wanna start over, Ava, after everything that's happened in the past months, I think it's something we both need".
She gave a smirk and leaned in for a hug.
"Thanks T" .
