With that, Kira had become my first real friend.

----le story start----

It had been a week since Gaara and I have become friends. It was pretty awesome aside from the dirty glares I was getting. Now I may be a five year old but I am not stupid. I know they hate me because I am friends with Gaara. It's that simple.

I have also heard people around the village whispering. They say things like:

"We don't need another monster here. Why doesn't the kazekage just throw her out of the village already!?"

"She must be wrong in the head if she is friends with that horrible Gaara..."

But everyone doesn't understand. He isn't horrible or a monster. And me? A monster? I couldn't be! I haven't done anything!

Now I was going to Gaara's and my favorite spot. It is a place only we can get to. If you ever went there with us you would think it is the most beautiful place ever. It is a really tall hill where you can see the whole village, there are only a few trees and you can see every star in the sky on a clear night. It's wonderful.

"Hey Kira!! I was starting to think you wouldn't come!" Gaara yelled from the top of our hill.

"Now why wouldn't I come see my best friend? It took me a little longer because I stopped and got you... COOKIES!!!" Panda-chan ripped the cookie bag out of my hands once I got to him.

"Thank *munch* you *munch munch* Kira!" He said as he munched on the cookies.

"No problem buddy." I replied sitting down and looking at the land.

I heard rustling coming from next to me and I looked over and saw Panda-chan looking at the village with a sad look in his eyes. I didn't want to question him about it and make him more upset then he already was, so we just sat in comfortable silence.

I was troubled as I sat there though.

'What's up with Gaara and will the time come?'
