“Uh, sure. Who is there his family?” Scorpius asked his father. A small grin rested on his father’s features.
“Uh, sounds like the Potter's and Granger-Weasley's. Kid wise uh, I don't know. Hugo, Rose, James, Lily, and Albus.” Draco answered. Scorpius nodded before setting his book down. “Oh and what you are wearing should be fine, they aren't too fancy.” Scorpius looked down at his clothes.
“But I'm wearing pajamas. How is that fine?” Scorpius asked looking up at his father now.
“Well, Harry said Albus was wearing… pajamas, Albus isn't feeling well, like himself. So they are inviting people over.” Draco stuttered thinking. 'don't tell Scorpius. Rose said he can't know.’ Harry’s words echoed in Draco’s head.
“Sounds odd, okay, let's go.” Scorpius smiled, slipping real shoes on his feet.
“I don't think I told them we were going to use the floo network. Well, they are in for a surprise.” Draco mumbled.
“Come on Albus the beanie doesn't match the dress. Wear the helmet.” Rose begged. “What if we make the same bet? It'll hide the blond.” Rose added. Albus caved and put the pink power rangers helmet on top of his head, after he pulled the beanie off his head. A loud thud from downstairs announced the presence of more people. Albus groans as Rose and James pull him downstairs. Albus was limp until he saw his friend. Then he started to attempt to run up the stairs.
“Albus, our bet. Don't be shy.” James whispered as he dragged his younger brother downstairs. Once at the bottom Albus gave up, falling limp in his family's arms.
“Ah hello Rose, James and…” Draco paused stifling a laugh. “Hello Albus. How have you been?” Draco asked.
“I have been better. So, dad invited you. Did you know?” Albus questioned.
“Yes I knew before hand, Scorpius, who is talking to your mother, didn't.” Draco replied. Albus looked between his family and Draco. A sigh of defeat escaped his lips as he walked into the kitchen.
Scorpius’ POV
I watched has Mr. Potter spun around his hand over his mouth. Mrs. Potter’s eyes narrowed as she watched everyone enter. I finished my sentence as I turned to see my father, James, Rose and Albus. But Albus was wearing a black and white maid dress, a pink helmet with golden trim and a golden V in the center. I was so shocked looking at my friend looking like he did, that I had no reaction. Albus had small hint of pink in his cheeks as he watched me. I smiled and walked towards my friend. I placed my arm on his shoulder pulling him away from everyone. I could feel his unease as we entered the living room. Albus collapsed on the couch pulling his knees to hide in a ball.
“Hey Al guess what, my dad said we might be spending the night, my dad seemed uncomfortable about it. I feel like I will be your only sanity. So may I get an explanation, or do you want to keep it secret?” I tried to lighten the mood.
“James and Rose, I made a bet with the both of them. If I can wear these for a whole day they will do as I say all of tomorrow. But I had to wear these, and you had to see.” Albus mumbled hiding in his knees still. I move to sit beside him. His body tensed as I place my hand on his knee.
“You don't look bad, it is just strange. Not everyday you see your best friend in a dress and a pink helmet.” I attempted to cheer him up. He lifted his head out of knees and looked at me through the helmet. His green eyes with a dull grey cover, hinting his shock.shock.Albus’ eyes turn to look at the kitchen. The doorway was where Hermione stood. She motioned her head for us to come.
“Dinner's ready, come one.” she called. I nodded and turned towards Albus, he watched his aunt leave. I stood and helped Albus out of his couch and walked into the dining room with him. We sat down beside each other. Dinner was quiet with a small hum of chatter on the parents end.
“Albus dear, I don't care what the bet was. Take the helmet off it is easier to eat. And if they try to make it count, I will ground them.” Ginny called to her son, with Hermione agreeing. Albus looked between his family and me. A small sigh escaped his lips as he pulled the helmet off his head. His hair was sweaty, and sticking to his head. And blond. I moved to touch it confused.
“Why is your hair blond?” I asked. I could feel everyone’s eyes watching me as I mess with his hair.
“I don't entirely know, I woke up and it was blond. Thanks to James and Rose though.” Albus answered. I smiled and moved my hand back to my food.
“I'll be honest I like your brown hair better, but blond does look good on you.” I said and continued eating. “The food is wonderful, thank you Mrs. Potter, and Mrs. Weasley?” I thanked. The two mother's nodded. Once everyone was done eating nobody left the table. Everyone sat around talking.
“So can I get a baby dragon?” Lily asked her parents. Ginny sighed looking at her husband.
“No, that's illegal. How about a different non illegal animal?” Ginny questioned already tired of this conversation.
“How often does this conversation occur?” I asked Albus. The Potter's all looked tired once Lily asked her question, so it was fair to ask.
“Uh, every time someone brings up animals.” Albus answered rubbing his temples. I chuckled trying to think of a topic changer, that the whole table will enjoy.
“That's boring. So James, what are you most excited for when you go back to Hogwarts?” I asked. Everyone turned and looked at us. Intrigued by this conversation starter.
“Uh, well maybe seeing my friends and quidditch.” James answered before thinking. “What about you? What are you excited for?” James shot back. I thought for a moment. Spending another school year with Albus. I can't say that.
“Uh, I miss my studies, maybe hanging around you guys for an entire school year, but that might be awful, compared to what you did to Albus.” I replied. Albus sat beside me listening. I turned to look at him. “What about you Albus?”
“Well, uh, I don't know. Maybe hanging out with you longer than a week.” Albus answered. I smiled, trying to hide my warm cheeks. Nodding I turned to Rose and Hugo. Waiting their answers.
“Uh, my studies.” Rose and Hugo replied in unison. I turned to look at Lily and asked her. She smiled.
“Animals, and learning more and more.” Lily answered. She turned to ask about dragons again when I interrupted her.
“What are you excited about when we go to school?” I invited the parents into the conversation.
“Being able to relax.” Ron and Harry said looking at each other, before they laughed.
