Nicole let out a short huff as her arm was dragged up in victory. She was used to being crowned the winner, but since she just returned from injury, they were especially playing into her heat. The fans loved her, and appreciated the new moves in her artillery. She found herself backstage, surrounded by a hoard of people preparing for their matches. Nicole had started the show with a promo, and then a match against Becky Lynch. It was only two nights ago, that she returned from her wretched neck injury unannounced. Returning to the ring after being told she could never wrestle again gave her a sense of pride and success. She felt as though she could do anything.
She looked up for a moment while walking through the back, her eyes meeting with the man she had an encounter with a few days before. 'What's he still doing here' She thought to herself but nevertheless continued to push past the crowd of people. "Looking good out there, Nicole." He commented, his rich voice creating tingles up and down her arms. She felt her face warm up, sweat glistening on her cheeks from her rigorous activities beforehand. "You got some business over her, stranger?" She commented, pushing a piece of hair behind her ear. "Gonna be making my debut on smackdown next week. But shh don't tell anyone." He said with a wink, sending shivers down Nicole's spine. She tilted her head to the side, and smiled. "Welcome to the A show, we're happy to have you." She joked and he cracked a small laugh. "Well I gotta go. Hope I see you around more often." The man smiled and left to catering.
Nicole felt a cold presence after the man had left, like she was missing something. She scrunched her lips, and went to find her fiancée, John. At the moment, he was actually wrestling full time. Attending house shows, wrestling every week, and even consistently traveling with the roster. That made her happy, but something about their relationship hadn't been going right. Though they traveled together, they almost never spoke. It was never an awkward silence between them, but a lonely one. She approached him, and grabbed his arm. He didn't react at first, his attention focused at the phone in his hand. "Nicole, babe, you won't believe the news I just got." Nicole's eyebrows shifted into a squint, and her heart dropped. He's leaving again. She thought to herself as she grinned unenthusiastically. "What is it?" She questioned, but already knew the answer. "I just landed a new movie deal! This one's big, babe. They want me to fly down tonight!" "But I thought we were traveling on the jet tonight?" She stuttered, shaking her head in disbelief. "Come on babe, you know how important these movie deals are. Plus, I'm sure you'll find someone else to travel with."
Nicole knew exactly who she was going to ask to travel with her, and he happened to be the newest addition to the Smackdown roster...
