The lifespan of an adult butterfly is very short. Sometimes only 1/5 of it's life are they butterflies. You might as well take advantage of the time you have.
Oliver and I talked every day. My everyday life went from boring to completely unexpected. I went to bed each night thinking of the possible conversation we might have the next day. Janet was right. I was Oliver Obsessed. I continued to replay his words in my head: You are beautiful.
Oliver and I sit together in the teen center while we play four square. "Your move." I say as I drop the yellow chip.
Oliver picks up the tiny red circle. "You know, I think you should meet my family Caroline."
My piece falls out of my hand. "Why?"
"Well we hangout a lot and you're parents have met me, so why not?"
I tap my foot nervously on the orange carpet. "Okay, I guess."
Oliver smiles. "Great! They're coming in an hour."
"What? Oliver!" I playfully kick his leg.
Oliver laughs and jerks his legs back in reaction to the kick. "What? You changed your mind already Caroline?" He raises his eyebrows.
I burst out laughing."You are the worse!"

I anxiously tap my foot in his room. Why would I meet his parents? We're just friends. Right? I think Oliver noticed my tapping because he looks up and chuckles softly.
"You nervous?" He asks with a smile.
"Uh, no!" I say over-confidently. Now he definitely knows I'm nervous.
Suddenly the door swings open and a little girl runs out followed by Oliver's mother.
"Ollie! Ollie!" The girl runs towards Oliver and enwraps him in a hug.
"Meet Sarah, my kid sister." Oliver laughs. "She's five."
"Hi Sarah," I give a small wave. "I'm Caroline."
Sarah whips her head around and stares at me for a solid 10 seconds then suddenly screams, "Ollie! You have a girlfriend?"
I freeze. I look at Oliver who says absolutely nothing. Finally, Oliver's mom steps in.
"Sarah," She says while pulling her off Oliver. "I'm sure Ollie would tell us if he had a girlfriend. Isn't that right?" She shoots a look at Oliver.
"Um, yeah." He rubs his palms together. "That's right."
Oliver's mom then walks over to me and smiles. "I'm Sasha, Oliver's mom. It's nice to meet you... Caroline? Is that right?"
"Yeah, that's it."
Oliver laughs. "She also goes by Carry-bug and Carofl-" I kick Oliver's leg.
"Um no, just Caroline!" I say while trying to give a serious look to Oliver. It doesn't work. I can't help but smile when looking at him.
We sat and talked for about an hour until I had to excuse myself and go back to my room. On the slow walk back I continued to think of how Oliver said nothing when portrayed as my boyfriend. I wasn't too upset about it.
