Keith punched someone again.

The teenage male immediately regretted it.

When he got home, his adoptive mother was infuriated. She grabbed his wrists, examining his purplish-blue knuckles, before continuing to go on a rampage about how he needs to 'control himself.'

He honestly thought to himself, 'would my real mother yell at me like that?' Those thoughts always crossed his mind. His biological mother died when he was a young age, his father abandoned Keith, along with his mother. It took a while for Keith to get over his mother's death. It would still always, be a painful memory.

Keith moved around a lot, but his adoptive mother and himself, had finally settled into a comforting home, where they could live their lives without distress, or anything else.

Keith hated water, just as much as the next emo teenager.

His mother knew that, and took advantage of that. After all, they were in Florida.

"Keith. You will be taking surfing lessons for at least, a month. That is your punishment. No further discussion."

Keith took a glance at her, chuckling for a second.

"Yeah, real funny mom." He crossed his arms.

"I'm serious. You start tomorrow. I already hired your instructor when your principal called me!" She retorted, glaring at her son, anger obviously apparent in her calming, hazel eyes.

"No, way! Mom, no! You can't be serious with me! I can't surf! I can't stay out in the sun! Are you kidding me?! You can't do this!"

"Didn't I say no further discussion? My decision is final. After a month, you may drop out. Maybe you'll learn your lesson." She snapped, sternly talking to her son.

"Your instructor is your age, so you better be appreciative, and be nice to him. You got yourself into this mess."

"Whatever, gosh!" Keith made way to his room, and slammed his door shut, collapsing on his bed.
He knew he couldn't compromise with his mother, the topic wasn't up for discussion. After all, he was in the wrong.

"Atleast tomorrow is Saturday, so I won't have to get up until late."
"Oh, yeah, and your first meeting starts early in the morning! Be ready, Keith." His mother yelled so she would be heard.

"Uggh." Keith growled.

The angry male set an alarm on his phone to at least have time to get ready.

Keith started scrolling through instagram, then noticed a post by his friend, Pidge.

They were on the shoulders of another teenager. Keith looked down to examine him. He had an amazing complexion, chocolate colored hair, deep blue eyes, and Keith assumed he was like, Cuban. Or something.

They were on the beach, and they wore the biggest smiles. Pidge was holding two peace signs high in the sky, and the other boy was holding a bright blue surfboard, with his other hand holding Pidge so they didn't fall.

"Ugh. Surfing." Keith croaked, slouching down.

The caption read:

urlocalpidge: surf lessons with a really cool dude! 🤗🏄🏼‍♀️🏄🏼

Keith liked the picture, then shut his phone off, falling into a deep slumber after ten minutes.

When his blaring alarm went off in the morning, Keith awoke, rubbing his eyes, and stretching his arms out.

After procrastinating for about five minutes, the raven haired boy unplugged his phone, and walked to his closet, grabbing a tshirt, and swim trunks. He tied his long hair - that probably needed a trim - up in a ponytail.

He finished getting ready, looking at the clock, and seeing he had only five minutes left to get to the beach, which was fine, since the walk to the beach was about two minutes. It was basically next to his house.

After arriving there with regret plastered on his face, he noticed Pidge, and the same boy that was in the picture, playing in the water.

Pidge looked up and gasped. "Hey, Keith! What are you doing here?!" They made their way out of the water with their tan friend.

"More like what are you doing here?" Keith paused to turn his head and look at the tall boy with ocean blue eyes, then turned back to Pidge. "Don't you have, like, a computer to hack?"

Pidge chuckled, shrugging. "I just finished my surfing lessons for the day, so now me and Lance are hanging out, until his next student gets here."

"Oh, by the way! Keith, this is Lance! Lance, this is my friend, well, he's kinda like a big brother figure, but, like.. whatever! This is Keith!"

Keith was slightly shocked, in response to the words that spilled out of Pidge's lips.

"Oh, uh, hi. My name is Keith."

"The name's Lance!"

The tan boy spoke up, with a cheery tone.

"So, anyways, Keith! What are you doing here? You never come outside unless you have to walk to school." Pidge questioned.

"ipunchedsomeoneandmymomgotmadsomypunishmentissurfinglessons." Keith mumbled, quickly, and incoherently.

"What?" Pidge rolled their eyes. "Speak slower, and speak up. Dummy."

Keith gulped, knowing that his small friend would laugh at him for this.

"I.. may have punched someone. Again. Mom got mad, and so, my punishment is surfing lessons, and for a whole month."

"So.." Pidge trailed off, looking up at Lance, then back at Keith, then Lance, then Keith.

"Whahaha!!" Pidge burst out laughing, holding their stomach and gasping for air.

"I guess that makes you the student we were waiting for, then! Surfing is absolutely amazing, you'll love it after a while," Lance declared.

Pidge was still cracking up.

"Keith Kogane! The emo-est of all emo, outside in the sun, the water, for a month! That's gold!"

"S-Shut up!" Keith glared at Pidge, while Lance chuckled, and held a genuine, huge smile upon his face.
