Kob's eyes began to open. She wasn't in the middle of the street anymore. She was in a car.
She looked in the drivers seat.
There was a man, he had a beard and a green shirt with some kind of logo on it.
"Who are you?" Kob asked.
"Your savior!"
"...what?"
"You were laying in the middle of the damn street, I ain't just gonna drive by ya."
"Well, where are you taking me?"
"Hospital, since there's obviously something wrong with you."
She looked down at the floorboards. It was littered with little things. Crumbs, unknown stains, and a penny.
She stole the penny.
As she collected herself, she noticed a bunch of music albums collecting dust in the seat next to her.
She froze. It was the same album HE listened to.

Kob was 10, and her father always had to drive her to school, since her mother went to work later in the day. One day, he was taking her to school but, he drove past it. Kob was confused.
"Daddy, we missed th-"
"I know we missed it, now shut up."
Kob shut her mouth. It was a hot summer day, and usually after school her mom would take her to get ice cream, or go to the park.
Her father pulled up at a huge blue ware-house, and walked inside.
Kob waited patiently.
Hours passed.
Kob's shirt was drenched in sweat.
It was getting in her eyes.
Her car seat felt like she was sitting on hot coals.
she cried, and cried.
Everything went white.

She awoke to her dad driving, with music playing. It was an old song. She didn't really pay attention to the words, more to the beat. It was slow. It made her feel paranoid and uneasy. But Kob, still covered in sweat, thought she was dying.

"Soon."

Kob came back.
She was still staring at the albums, but they looked different. They now had that strange symbol she had drawn in class. She rubbed her eyes and they changed back to the normal cover.
It was a really dumb cover, it was a middle aged dude on a beach with girls all over him.
"Ey kid, we're here."
They walked inside and told doctors how she was in the middle of the street, screaming.
Kob was starting to realize how crazy she was.
The doctors were too.
They sent her home, and were going to decide what to do from there. She couldn't wait to see Laz.
As the man dropped her off he told her a few words,
"Stay safe out there kiddo, I don't was ya gettin hurt again."
She nodded and trudged back into her home.
Her father was on the couch with a beer in his hand.
She didn't even look at him.
"Laz! Cmere boy!"
Nothing.
"Laz?"
He liked to hide under the bed.
She looked there, nothing.
She walked to her father.
"Where is Laz?"
"gave em away, all that mutt did was shit everywhere, and make me waste my money on its damn food."
Kob had to process what had just happened.
Her dad had crossed the line.

Red.

She ran at him, getting ready to strike him in the chest.

"What is this? What the HELL are you doing, crazy bitch!?"

He dodged her punch and grabbed her arms.
She headbutted him and he let go. Both of their heads were bleeding.

"Where is this strength coming from?"

He stepped back and ran at Kob. She strafed to the right and avoided him.
He went right though the wall.
Her father was a huge man. Not muscular, but huge.
Now half way in the wall, her father let out a frustrated yell.
She ran out of the living room and tried to leave the house.
She wasn't fast enough. Her father grabbed her by her hair and dragged her back into the house.
"Let go of me, let go of me you fucker!"
She struggled, then she started scratching his hands.
"Gah!" He let go.
She got up and ran again.
Her father went back to his chair and grabbed the empty beer.
With precise aim, he threw it at Kob.
It flew across the room, and shattered on the back of her head. She collapsed.
"That outta teach ya, you crazy fuck."
Blood poured from her head. She was losing vision. She saw a light.
With her last seconds, she remembered her mom, and Laz. And how they were the only people she had ever loved.
Kob, had gone Brain dead.
But, she didn't die.
